To most people, Thursday is just the day before Friday, the last time you have to set your alarm before the weekend. However, for a huge number of people, Thursday nights are spent in front of the television; for three hours, we immerse ourselves in Shondaland. "Grey's Anatomy," "Scandal," and "How to Get Away With Murder, " all created by Shonda Rhimes, are the biggest shows on TV right now. They draw in millions of viewers every week, and for good reason. The shows are known for making their fans sob uncontrollably, but there are a ton of other reasons to watch them.

1. For example, the amazing casts.

The casts from all three shows are very active on social media and are all too happy to connect with fans. They are all incredibly talented and complement each other.

2. The diversity.

Diversity in the media is a hot topic in the news today. Shonda Rhimes is very aware that the people watching her shows are not all white, not all male, and not all straight, so she takes care to include actors and characters from all walks of life on her shows.

3. They are so very quotable.

I promise you will find ways to incorporate everything that is said into your daily life.

4. They're realistic.

Okay, maybe not all of us had had affairs with presidents, or have had to bury a body in order to pass law school, but the characters and emotions are relatable. Even though we will most likely (and in some cases, hopefully never!) be in the same situations they're in, we relate to their thoughts and feelings because of the complexities of each character.

5. They're not afraid to get real.

The people involved with creating TGIT have a lot to say on the issues that we face or hear about every day, and they're not afraid to show it.

6. They're sexy.

No explanation needed!

7. I mean, look at these guys...

This requires two pictures, because how can we talk about the men of TGIT without including McDreamy and McSteamy?!

8. And look at these ladies!

These ladies are serious life goals.

9. Actually, ladies pretty much rule TGIT...

Because females are strong as hell.

10. And these ladies are fierce.

They are strong, dynamic, loyal, and sometimes they're messy, or mean, or they make mistakes. They break and fall and then they get back up again, and they never stop fighting for what they want.

11. The musical episode Grey's is enough of a reason to watch it.

Whether you loved the singing or hated it, it was a pretty awesome episode!

12. They give excellent advice.

Although sometimes it's more of a "do as I say, not as I do" type of situation...

13. They play with your emotions, and you love it.

Me every Friday morning.

14. You will have NO IDEA what's going to happen next.

You learn to expect the unexpected really quickly, and "OMG" because a frequent part of your vocabulary.

So next Thursday night at eight, sit down with a glass of wine and some popcorn, and settle in for a three-hour emotional rollercoaster ride, courtesy of Shonda Rhimes. Thank God it's Thursday.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
