15 Reasons Pinterest Is A Bomb App

Pinterest is very under-appreciated.

In today's society, social media apps such as Instagram, Facebook, and Snapchat seem to be slowly taking over the developed world. We've become so focused on seeing how other people's lives are playing out and how to construct ours to seem captivating, that we've lost the connection with the outside world which used to paint each and every activity we participated in.

Unfortunately, there are virtually no more jazz clubs or old speakeasies to dance at and conduct interesting conversations. Our conversations today happen over comment and like buttons, and sometimes the occasional coffee date if we can talk ourselves into getting ready and making the drive.

While I definitely think our culture and the millennial generation could use a reboot in our human relationships, there are some areas of social media that we aren't using enough.

Pinterest was created in 2010, but it's actually not as popular as you'd think. As of January 1, 2018, Pinterest has only 175 million active monthly users, while Instagram has 800 million and Facebook has 2,072 billion! This seems absolutely bogus to me because, even though the two later apps have been around longer, Pinterest has so much more to offer its users!

Here are 15 reasons that Pinterest is a bomb (perhaps even the most bomb) app for millennials today:

1. It's free.

2. You can explore almost any topic you wish.

Food, clothing, entertainment, tattoos, gardening, weddings, cars, etc.

3. The app lets you create boards for different topics that interest you.

4. Within these boards, you can "pin" different pictures that correlate to that topic.

When looking at pictures you can re-pin pictures to your own boards, favorite them, send them to people you follow on the app, and save them to your images.

5. There is now an option to shop for pins you like.

6. GIFs work on the app.

7. It's sure to put you in the decorating mood.

I have never wanted to become a baker so much in my life. But that is, unfortunately, not my calling. So I'll stick to obsessing over pictures of what other artists do until that changes.

8. Or cause you to go on a clothes/book/movie-buying spree, with no regret.

Your bank account may hate you for a bit, but what's really important here?

Hint: The merchandise.

9. You can plan your entire wedding or house floor plan without a boyfriend or house contract in sight.

Girls were already planning their weddings around age ten, this just brings it into the new millennium. A new era, if you will.

10. Pins are never-ending. There's no limit to how many pins you can have or boards you can create.

11. While there's a good chance you'll get judged for posting five pictures on Insta in one day, there is such a thing as Pinterest sprees.

Wanna pin ten thousand things onto the same board? No problem! It's actually expected tbh...

12. You'll find some of the best quotes you've ever read.

13. Pinterest is an opportunity to find plenty of cute bible verse wallpapers for free download or reposting purposes.

Most of the bible verse backgrounds and Instagram posts I have come from my Pinterest account in the first place.

14. You can get bored scrolling through Instagram or Facebook and run out of new things posted. Not on Pinterest though!

Anytime you get bored of one topic, just swap out for another! You can go from tattoo ideas to home decor to clothes with only a few taps on a keyboard!

15. It'll make you wanna eat all the unhealthy food left on the shelves of your local supermarket.

If anything, these 15 reasons or points should make you want to download the app or log onto your laptop to set up an account ASAP!

You definitely won't regret it!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
