The holiday season is one of the greatest times of the year, especially for a college student. It is filled with yummy food, good company and lots of laughs. Many of us haven’t had a good, home-cooked meal or been able to visit with our entire family since the last time we were home for the holidays. We are wrapping up our semester, and we can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. We cannot wait to come home, but with that excitement comes those dreaded questions and suggestions that we get every single year....

1. Do you have a boyfriend?

2. Don't you think it's time to settle down?

3. When are you going to get married?

4. I could set you up with my neighbor's hairdresser's son if you'd like

5. Are you putting on the "freshman" 15?

6. Gonna make all As this semester, right?

7. Are you stressed?

8. Not gonna fail out, are ya?

9. What are you going to school for?

10. Can you get a job with that?

11. Will that make any money?

12. Are you still liking that sorority you joined?

13. Do y'all do anything?

14. You're not partying too much up there, are ya?

So while we know you love us and that you are just genuinely concerned about our lives while we are away, please let us just enjoy our holiday without reminding us how single, stressed and broke we really are

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
