I’m a pastors kid, PK for short. Yes, it is a huge blessing, and I wouldn't trade it for all the money of the world, but our lives are pretty unique and out of the ordinary.

What are those unmistakable signs that you're a pastor’s kid?

1. You dread the moment when your dad will mention you during a sermon.

You know that moment when the whole congregation turns their heads towards you? Yeah, pretty embarrassing. Unless you did something good and he’s telling everybody about it, in which case, it’s kinda awesome.

2. You always have a counselor at hand.

I have always relished the fact that I do not have to request an appointment to talk to my pastor. He’s mine 24/7. Period.

3. You could blackmail half of the church.

No matter how discreet your parents try to be, you know most of everybody’s darkest secrets. Don't irritate me, you could regret it. Haha, just kidding.

4. Half of the church could blackmail you.

Here’s the ugly part.

5. You have an unbelievable present father.

Pastors have lots of things to do, and that makes it hard for them to spend much time with their families at home, but you can count on them to be incredibly present in your life and in all your important days.

6. People assume you're either perfect or utterly rebellious.

Somehow there’s nothing in between. This is not true, we are normal humans just like you, who stumble, fall and need God’s grace.

7. You can recite all the Bible’s books in order by heart.

I even know some songs about it, in case you’re interested.

8. You understand exactly how a goldfish feels.

The glass house phenomenon is all too real. Seriously, you can’t take a step without feeling hundreds of eyes on you.

9. You were always chosen first for Bible Bowl.

And you were the only member of the team who answered the questions.

10. Your family is extremely hospitable.

Your house is never empty. Never ever ever.

11. You get to a point were you wonder if your name is So-and-so’s son (or daughter).

Most people introduce you as “the pastor’s kid.”

12. Having to share your parents with several hundreds of people.

People, not cool. At all. They are MY parents. I’m not sharing them haha.

13. Experiencing God like few people do.

You experience God through your parents’ life in ways that are unimaginable to other people. You have seen him move, provide, and heal first hand.

14. You wouldn't change your life for nothing in this world.

As I said at the beginning, I wouldn't change my life. I love my dad and admire him in many levels. Seeing and experiencing God like that makes it all worth it.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
