What's a better pastime than seeing a bomb-a** band live, 10 feet away from you?

In my opinion, concerts are one of the best things that you can do/go to in this world. I have been to many, myself, as it is my favorite pastime and bands are my life. I get so excited every time I buy tickets to a new concert and look forward to the next one I plan on going to. If you wanted to know some good bands to see live, here are 14 of my favorites that I've seen and recommend:

1. Maroon 5

One of my first actual concerts I ever went to, Maroon 5 "set the stage" so to speak, for my affinity for concerts that was to follow and continue to this day.

2. Justin Timberlake

Although I did not have the best seats, I saw JT during my junior year in high school and the experience was still just as breathtaking. Justin Timberlake is not only an incredible singer with an impeccable range, but really knows how to entertain a crowd. I'm very thankful I was able to see him in concert.

3. Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness

I saw Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness during a music festival called Sweetlife in 2014. Sweetlife is a music and art festival held in Columbia, Maryland at the Merriwether Post Pavillion. Like most music festivals, there was a headlining act that was to perform at the end of the day, concluding the entire festival. He was one of the earlier acts. His performance here was what lead me to further like and appreciate his music.

4. Hozier

Also at Sweetlife, Hozier performed towards the beginning of the day as well. At this time, he was rarely known as this was one of the gigs to kickstart his career. Following Sweetlife, Hozier stepped into the spotlight much more, as many of his songs were featured on the radio starting with his most famous "Take Me to Church."

5. Capital Cities

Capital Cities was also present at the Sweetlife festival. They performed on the alternative stage which was known as the "Treehouse." The stage was surrounded by many trees, in almost a forest-like area. Even the stage itself was built in accordance with trees. It was such a cool experience to watch them perform in this kind of surrounding. They were also really good at getting the whole crowd to interact with them and act as a collaborative group, which only made the concert that much more enjoyable.

6. Lana del Rey

My first time seeing Lana del Rey was also at the Sweetlife festival. At that time, I had been a fan of Lana for a short while, so it was really cool to see her perform some of her songs that I had known at the time. Although seeing her perform here was when I became an official fan. I ended up seeing her a second time a year later in 2015 at Jiffy Lube Live during one of her summer tours.

7. Foster the People

Foster the People was another one of the bands I saw at Sweetlife. They were the headlining band of the festival, so they were the last band that performed that day. I wasn't able to pay extreme attention while they were on, however, as we were searching for some of our stuff that we lost that day. And, it began to rain (go figure). But what I could hear and see of them was definitely worthwhile and an experience I won't forget.

8. Bastille

The first time I saw Bastille perform was, again, at the Sweetlife festival. They were much newer at this time, but their music quickly became so popular and liked by many. The second time I was able to see them was about a year later at the Patriot Center, where I took my little brother with me to see them for his birthday. I also plan to see them for a third time this year sometime in March. They remain one of my all-time favorite bands today.

9. The Script

I saw the Script the summer before my senior year of high school, and it was such a cool concert. The band is from Ireland and some of their singles remain extremely popular today, such as "Breakeven" and "The Man Who Never Moved."

10. OneRepublic

OneRepublic was on tour with the Script and performed after them.

11. Incubus

Incubus performed at another music festival called Kerfuffle that I went to during my senior year of high school. They were great performers and I loved being able to see them sing their most famous song "Drive" live.

12. Train

I saw Train perform at Jiffy Lube Live during the summer of 2015. Our seats got upgraded randomly, and for free (what could be better?). This concert was a lot of fun and one of my favorites. Seeing them perform "Drops of Jupiter" completed my life, to be honest.

13. Panic! at the Disco

The first time I saw Panic! was at the music festival Kerfuffle. I knew I liked them at the time, but I was not prepared for just how much I would end up liking them after this festival. They have become my second all-time favorite band (only second to RHCP, obviously). I saw them for the second time just this summer during their summer tour. I got PIT tickets and it was definitely one of the best experiences of my life, I would relive it if I could. Panic! at the Disco puts on one of the best concerts, if not the absolute best I have seen thus far. I would, without a doubt, recommend seeing them to anyone.

14. Weezer

I saw Weezer at the same summer tour that Panic! performed at. I've always been a huge fan of Weezer ever since my dad showed them to me at a young age. So seeing them live, in the PIT, was extremely satisfying. This concert was an experience I will never forget.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
