This time of year comes with a lot of stress. Most people are just getting over finals, which we all know is the worst time of year. But it is also the holiday season which may not be everyone's cup of tea. In times of stress I like to focus on things that create happiness, no matter if they’re large or small. Most people don’t need grand gestures to make them happy. Finding happiness in little, random things that happen everyday makes for so much more joy in your life.

1. The smell of clean laundry

This plus the warmth from the dryer makes you just want to dive right into the basket.

2. The beginning of your favorite song

By the first note you already know what’s happening and are on top of it. You are in sync with every phrase and melody.

3. A soft blanket

Cozying up in the fetal position under something soft and warm is a feeling like no other.

4. Getting the thing that's been stuck between your teeth

Honestly do I have to explain? This is the just best.

5. Platonically holding hands

Yes, holding hands with a significant other is nice, but the bond you have with friends is strengthened when you hold hands -- it makes you feel supported.

6. A good view

Skyline, hillside, sunset, you name it -- it’s worth whatever effort you have to take to get there.

7. An extra nugget in your box

Based on a recent experience, it was the most exciting thing to happen to me all year.

8. The first full body stretch after waking up

Though it sometimes results in a charlie horse it feels good to just be awake in the safest place in the world.

9. Night time drives

Especially this time of year when most houses have Christmas lights up.

10. Not having plans

There is always something happening in college so looking ahead to the next day and realizing there is nothing you have to do is such a calming feeling.

11. Making eye contact with a crush

Even if it’s awkward eye contact at least they looked at you.

12. Pull through parking spots

There’s no need to readjust your parking -- it’s basically fixed for you just by pulling up.

13. Receiving an unexpected compliment

Maybe you did nothing too special that day but someone says you look good or your hair is pretty and your day is just made

14. Making someone smile

Even if its a simple wave in the hallway making someone smile is amazing because a smile can make anyones day.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
