It's nearly summertime again, and school is out, the days are longer, and we have time to play outside and go on adventures. Whether you're camping, at the beach, or just enjoying your local scene, if you're not careful, you could easily find yourself paying the price for an afternoon in the sun. Oh, that wretched summer sunburn; it's awful and painful, yet one of the greatest indicators of someone enjoying their summer days to the fullest. Your lobster skin may be able to be spotted miles away, but everyone knows you've been out having a blast. Nevertheless, it is one of the worst things you can experience in summer. If you've already experienced that summer burn, you're likely to have caught yourself thinking a few of these:
1. I don't need to reapply sunscreen again.
It'll be fine!
2. It sure is getting really hot out here...
3. *Looking in mirror once you're inside again* OH MY GOSH!
I look like a monster.
4. These tan lines are absolutely atrocious.
5. Am I running a fever?
Why does this feel like the flu?!
6. It hurts to wear a shirt. It hurts to touch things. It hurts to breathe.
7. My skin feels like leather.
This isn't cute.
8. It hurts to be alive.
9. I am never going outside again.
10. I think I am actually on fire.
11. I can't move without wanting to cry.
Honestly, is God punishing me?
