13 Thoughts For The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year

The time is now here. November 1st. The beginning of the Christmas season. Yes, I understand that we still have Thanksgiving coming up - and I do enjoy Thanksgiving - but it's basically a warm-up for the big one. Thanksgiving doesn't haven't a season full of joy, and the three or four weeks between Thanksgiving and Christmas simply aren't enough time tp celebrate Christmas. So it's here, the most wonderful time of the year.

1. It's time to give in to the madness

2. That means music

3. That means food

4. And of course...decorations

5. Also, red cups are coming

6. This is when it begins

7. We aren't deterred by those lacking in Christmas spirit

8. We are willing to stand up for our right to celebrate

9. But we want those haters to also get involved in the fun

10. So get those sweaters ready

11. Get your playlists set

12. Keep those movies and specials in mind

13. And have a wonderful Christmas season

So don't ever let people tell you its too early, because November 1st is a perfectly fine day to start getting in the Christmas spirit. All of the things that go along with it are amazing, and I am just as much a Christmas fanatic as anyone. Despite this, as we head into this Christmas season, everyone should remember why we get to have such a magical time in the first place.

"10 But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people.11 Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord." - Luke 2:10-11

Thats why this season is so amazing. All of this stuff is incredibly fun but the joy and generosity that we aim to bring in this season is a small yet crucial thing we can do to remember we are celebrating the birth of the Savior of all mankind. Not the Savior of just a few, but the Savior of "all the people".

Have a wonderful Christmas season!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
