13 things we learned from '13 Going on 30'

"13 Going on 30" is a movie that is very often overlooked. The amount of sass, good-natured fun and life anecdotes combines into a truly precious movie with a lot to teach.

1. Love is a battlefield.

"13 Going on 30" promotes feminism, slumber parties and random dance episodes. Plus, it lets young girls in on the one true secret of love: Love is a battlefield.

2. Telling the truth is always a good idea.

Good things come to those who put themselves out there. Tell the truth. You never know where it will take you.

3. It teaches how to properly insult people.

No need to use fowl language. The truth hurts just as much and maybe a little bit more.

4. It realistically describes puberty.

The only good thing to come from puberty. Period. Unless you're Neville Longbottom. (In which case, I'm single!)

5. It realistically describes aging.

It seems to happen over night and out of nowhere. It can be scary.

6. Outlines how to deal with a "Fuck Boy."

My dating life in one GIF.

7. Displays the adorableness of being in love.

Even their name can make you smile!

8. "Thriller" has more than one move.

Let's just take a moment to appreciate the fact that Jennifer Garner took the time to teach our generation that there is more to the "Thriller" than just one move. Our generation is indebted to you.

9. Shows us what love really is.

Love is putting their happiness before your own.

10. True friends are proud to claim you.

Even in that geeky sweater. True friends have your back.

11. Kissing at the beach is important.

This will never not be romantic.

12. Teaches us to dream.

Dreaming is important, it give us some place to go.

13. Teaching us to live in the now.

But we can't live in our dreams. Living in the now is an important lesson. So dream, but don't forget to live.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
