In one single trip with my significant other, I learned multiple things that strengthened our relationship, and many of them also gave me a good laugh. I already can't wait for our next trip.
1. He’s going to be ready 10 hours before you are. You’ll probably be the one who is expressing that they are more excited, but he’s going to pack in a matter of five minutes.
2. The beauty of being his girlfriend is that you will overpack. If you think about it, then you really aren’t “overpacking” if he will need half of the things you packed as extras!
3. The first thing he is going to buy at the gas station is a protein shake. He’s equipped and ready to annoy you for however long you’re stuck in the car. Eleven hours in my case.
4. Just because he puts headphones on doesn’t mean he is going to be quiet.
5. You’ll get a lot of laughs from the way he sleeps in the car.
6. Take as many funny pictures of him sleeping as you can get because when he wakes up y’all will have very different opinions on what is funny.
7. Go ahead and text his mom for him when you get to where y’all are going because 8 out of 10 times he’s going to forget.
8. Be. Ready. To. Laugh. It’s that serious. If he’s the one for you then he is a professional at making you laugh.
9. Did you know you’re a part-time laundry lady? I guess he doesn’t know that belts don’t get washed?
10. Of all the times that he is cheap, vacation won’t be one. You’ll have a fun time splurging all for the heck of it.
11. As it turns out, spending hours upon hours with the person you truly care about is awesome.
12. Your family is going to love him if you’re as lucky as I am. A good relationship between your family and your boyfriend makes things so easy. I’m thankful to have a boy who isn’t afraid to sit on the porch with the guys in my family without needing to be glued to my hip.
13. Start collecting something. Every trip we take we go ahead and grab a sticker to throw on his Yeti to remember all of our adventures. It makes for some good stories.
When you get the chance to take a trip with the person who is your best friend in the whole world, then have a blast.
