There is something magical that happens when you step off of a plane and on to new land. Your heart skips a beat, your smile overwhelms you and your excitement for adventure is at an all time high. You know it will be the time of your life but you don't know how yet. I have been blessed to experience this many times and am hooked on the feeling.
Here are 13 things that I have learned from spending time abroad:
1. A simple “yes” becomes your most valuable tool.
2. Low battery is not the end of the world and most other countries do not value wifi the same way we do.
3. You will be at risk of catching a serious case of wanderlust.
4. Laughter is of the same importance in any language.
5. Falling in love is easy to do on foreign soil.
6. Swearing in other languages.
7. Expect the best out of every situation.
8. The world is absolutely your oyster.
9. Hole-in-the-wall restaurants are always better.
10. Alone time is healthy time.
11. The person you are when you arrive, is not the person you are when you leave.
12. Everything is sexier with an accent.
13. You are capable of so much more than you know.
