Dyeing your hair can be a fun way to change up your look and give you a self confidence boost! Whether you decide to drastically change your look or just go a shade darker, it's exciting to get a new look. However, it can be kind of scary to take the leap, especially if you're not sure it will turn out the way you intended. Here are the 11 steps you will go through when dyeing your hair!
1. You decide that it's finally time to dye your hair.
Whether or not you have been thinking about it for awhile or it is a spontaneous decision, you want to change up your look.
2. You drive to your nearest beauty store/Target and scour the aisle for the perfect color.
It's possibly the hardest decision you've ever had to make. You're never quite sure if the way the color looks on the box will be the way it actually looks on you.
3. You're finally able to narrow it down to two colors.
It's a very important decision and choosing the wrong color could mean disaster.
4. You finally pick the right color and are super excited to start dyeing it!
You probably have next to no idea what you're doing, but you're excited none the less.
5. The nerves start kicking in right before you put the first amount of dye in.
Again, you go through all of the ways that this could be a huge mistake. Common thoughts include: "What if my hair turns green?" or "What if it looks absolutely terrible?"
6. You or a friend starts putting the dye in, and you realize that there's no going back.
A mild panic begins to set in.
7. After all of the dye is in, the waiting game begins.
It's absolute agony waiting the thirty minutes for the dye to set in. You'll be able to catch up on some hot gossip with friends or put on Netflix.
8. Thirty minutes are up and it's time to rinse your hair out!
If you wash it out in the bathtub, you will see the dye rinsing out and you will think you've made a terrible mistake.
9. You take a glimpse in the mirror while your hair is completely wet.
You won't actually be able to see what it really looks like, but the curiosity is killing you.
10. It's done! You've blow-dried your hair and your ready to see the new 'do!
Your heart is pounding as you walk over to the mirror. You also come up with a mental game plan to change it back in case the color is completely wrong.
11. You absolutely love it!
And you wonder why you ever doubted yourself!
