You are doing everything wrong if you have yet to watch "Stranger Things" on Netflix. Also, you should not be reading this if you haven't watched it yet because there are a lot of spoilers ahead. It is quite literally the title: It is pretty much a bunch a very strange things that occur throughout the entire season. I will admit, I was hesitant to begin the show. I don't do well with scary, and with the pictures of the creepy looking girl when you search the show, it definitely looks scary. Well it turns out it is one of the best shows I have seen. However, the ending of the season has left me, as well with many of you I am sure, a series of questions about the characters and the storyline. So let's get this started.
1. So, like, what exactly is the deal with Eleven?
So she escapes, we get that. Then she is hiding from Dr. Brenner in Mike's basement where we learn she has all these powers. Then she confesses her love for Mike and immediately after she disappears. What a complicated girl. So is she dead or what?
2. Why, even after all this time, do I not trust Chief Hopper? What the heck is this deal he made with Dr. Brenner?
Okay, well I do trust Hop because he helped Joyce find her son and he really did care about finding Will... But he does have an intense past that was occasionally shown throughout the season... And why was he acting sketchy at the end? And what is this deal that he made?
3. Anyone else feel super bad for Will?
Poor kid. First he is taken to the Upside Down by the Demogorgon, and just when he gets back and everything is alright again, he begins to see more signs of the Upside Down... Come on give the kid a break.
4. What is the whole point of the Upside Down?
I still don't really understand it. So it is another dimension, that was made pretty clear. But that still does not clear up what the Upside Down is, or what the purpose of it is. I am just so confused.
5. Okay, so Barb?
Woah. So random, right? Poor innocent Barb who has done nothing but try and protect Nancy, her best friend. Why did the Demogorgon go after her? I mean yeah it sensed her blood, but is that the only reason?
6. And why does Barb die and not Will?
I'm not saying Will should have died too. But like, Will and Barb were in the same place, this Upside Down thing. How was Will able to survive, but Barb wasn't?
7. So why do we get to meet Terry and then she suddenly never reappears on the show... She seems like she is really important.
Is Terry Eleven's mother? It all seems to make sense to me. We meet her once and all the connections seem to make sense, but then we never hear of Terry again. What gives?
8. Can we have a little more backstory on this whole government experiment thing?
I don't really have much to say about this other than the fact that I don't understand the purpose of it. What is the full backstory behind Hawkins Lab?
9. Why did the gate randomly appear in that tree with Nancy and Jonathan?
What makes the gate appear? Was it something Jonathan did? Was it something Nancy did? Can the gate appear upon request of those who wish to enter? Ugh. So many questions.
10. What is the Demogorgon's ultimate goal?
So it senses a person's blood and then takes them to the Upside Down... Okay great, but then what?
11. Are there other kids out there like Eleven?
I'm just assuming that there has to be kids 001-010, right? And if not, what is the significance of the name 011?
12. Why the lights?
Why was it the lights the captured Joyce's attention? I mean I am glad that it worked because it helped her save Will, but I just don't get the whole deal with it being lights. Also, where did she get the money for all those lights?
13. When the heck is season two going to air?
I really cannot wait any longer. These question cannot go unanswered.
Season two, come on! We are all waiting over here. I am already going through "Stranger Things" withdrawal.
