Instagram: the hotspot to share your fave pictures and videos with your friends. And yet, you scroll down your feed and see the same thing everyday. A nice meal, someone's dog, a girl and her boyfriend, the same girl and her best friend, some guy without a shirt, and a workout video that makes you want to get off of your phone and run a mile. But, with the same pictures comes the same captions. Here are 13 basic captions I see daily on Insta that NEED to go.

1. "He's alright"

In referring to your boyfriend. Everyone knows your madly in love and stalk his social media daily, you're not fooling anyone.

2. "Every brunette needs a blonde best friend"

Hold the phone... your friend has a different hair color than you?! Stop the presses, who would've thought?

3. "I love you to the moon and back"

Wow. That's SO far.

4. "Favorite/Fave"

Referring to your best friend. We all know you have this as your caption with at least 5 other people. Nice try.

5. "Squad"

Referring to a pic with 5 or more people. Congrats, you have more than one friend. Are they all your "faves" too?

6. "Good vibes"

You are SO zen. Hope you loved your 7am yoga class, Becky.

7. "Dinner/Formal/Any event with this guy"

Who is "this guy" and why is he in everyone's pictures?

8. "____ game strong"

Could be a selfie, could be a workout, could be eyebrows. The world may never know.

9. "No caption needed"

Obviously there is one needed if you feel the need to write it's not needed.

10. "The definition of our friendship"

This is most likely a candid of you and your best friend laughing. Not original. Try again.

11. "*Any destination ever*, I am in you"

Creepy way to think of things. Stop.

12. "Dysfunctional"

I can think of many more dysfunctional things than you and your friends "falling" or your quirky candid.

13. Just some random emojis with no correlation to the picture.

Is a caption still not needed?

Yes, I will admit I have used a few of these, but in my defense I was a freshman in high school. Having a basic caption isn't the end of the world, but it gets tiring seeing 15 pictures in a row with one. Please continue posting pics of you and your sorority sisters posing, or you and your friends at a party, but for my sanity, boost the caption creativity just a tad. You'll thank me later.

"I've only slept nine hours over the past four days, so I'm right on the verge of a nervous breakdown." - Leslie Knope

The library. Club lib. The place every college student goes when they want to try and be a productive member of society. Who better to explain your experience than Parks and Rec?

1. When you've finally found the energy to leave your dorm room and walk into the lib like

Taylor Swift in orange dress playing a moss-covered piano on stage with bright lights.

A three-and-a-half-hour runtime. Nine Eras. Eleven outfit changes. Three surprise songs. Zero breaks. One unforgettable evening. In the past century, no other performer has put on an electric performance quite like Taylor Swift, surpassing her fans ‘wildest dreams’. It is the reason supporters keep coming back to her shows each year. Days later, I’m still in awe of the spectacle ‘Miss Americana’ puts on every few days in a new city. And, like one of Taylor’s exes, has me smiling as I reminisce about the memories of the night we spent together.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.
