Jessica Jones is a hard-drinking, short-fused mess of a woman, and she also happens to be the titular character in Netflix's original Marvel series. Jessica has superpowers, but she mostly just sleeps, drinks, and is generally frustrated with humans as a whole. So basically, she's all of us during the mid-semester slump.
1. Like when you realize you've might have been going out a little too often lately...
Oops.
2. And you might be starting to overestimate you ability to coast.
You've already used up all your skip days.
3. Your love life is tanking, and your social skills are lackluster at best.
How do you interact with other humans?
4. You have to admit, you have a problem.
And you have to do something about it, unless you want to really do some damage.
5. You usually do pretty well in school, but now even your teachers are starting to wonder what's going on.
Yikes.
6. You start thinking about all the things you have to do and should do to fix this.
Nothing seems to be working.
7. Every little thing annoys you.
Your neighbors blasting music is not helping you focus.
8. You no longer have the patience to deal with people.
You just want to stay in bed and watch Netflix all day.
9. When your parents ask how you've been doing, you tell them not to worry.
What they don't know won't hurt them.
10. Your friends' attempts to help can sometimes be misguided.
They mean well, but you're not ready to rejoin the world of the productive.
11. Eventually, you start making plans and setting small goals for yourself.
It's hard, but you work on it.
12. Of course, something inevitably delays your plans.
You get sick. You have to cover someone's shift. Your professor springs a pop quiz on you. The list goes on.
13. You tell yourself that at least you tried.
But maybe it's better to just nap all day.
14. Eventually, though, things start to improve.
And before you know it, you're doing just fine.
So keep going! The end of the semester is almost here. Make sure it ends on a good note!
