To say that the period between Thanksgiving and Christmas is my favorite time of year would be a complete understatement. It's kind of like my body goes into hibernation until early November and then my Santa senses come to life. I can't help but be incredibly cheery and jolly all month long. However, being a college can kind of put a damper on a student's Christmas spirit right before the holiday. With finals and holiday stress it can be hard to just enjoy this time of year. With finals nearly done and everyone headed home for the holidays,

Here's a list of 12 things you need to do or that will just remind you of the Christmas season whether you're away from home or not.

On the first day of Christmas, my true love gave to me...

1. A Michael Buble Christmas CD

Is it really Christmastime without Michael Buble's version of It's Beginning to Look a lot like Christmas blasting all throughout your house?

On the second day of Christmas, my true love gave to me...

2. Two tickets to see the Zoo Lights

Is there really anything better than Christmas lights and animals? The only thing that would be better is if the animals were wearing Santa hats.

On the third day of Christmas, my true love gave to me...

3. Three Holiday Starbucks Cups

I can't tell you how many of these cups I've seen on people's Snapchat stories the past few weeks. Something about a holiday Starbucks cup gets before super stoked for the holidays and makes drinking coffee feel a little more festive.

On the fourth day of Christmas, my true love gave to me...

4. Four ugly Christmas sweater parties

You know that you have at least two of these in your closet. Might as well wear them and add a Santa hat too!

On the fifth day of Christmas, my true love gave to me...

5. Fiiiiiiiive pairs of Christmas socks

We've all seen the Tweets of girls saying how you could get them a pair of fuzzy socks as a present and they'd love them to death. Those tweets really aren't fiction because seriously, buy me some Christmas socks and I'll die happy.

On the sixth day of Christmas, my true love gave to me...

6. Six awkward family Christmas cards on the fridge

Nothing quite screams Christmas like seeing awkward photos of your parents' friends families who you don't really know every time you go to open the fridge all holiday season.

On the seventh day of Christmas, my true love gave to me...

7. Seven rolls of Pillsbury Christmas cookies

These aren't just amazing at Christmas time. They're great all year round considering they have them for every single holiday. Something about having them for Christmas just makes them so much better. They're also ten times better when you eat them raw.

On the eighth day of Christmas, my true love gave to me...

8. Eight gingerbread houses

Do they ever really come out looking like the box they came in?

On the ninth day of Christmas, my true love gave to me...

9. Nine Fruitcakes that don't get eaten

This Christmas will be twentieth Christmas ever and I still plan on not eating any fruitcake.

On the tenth day of Christmas, my true love gave to me...

10. Ten toddlers scared of Santa

If you actually think about it it is pretty weird that we expect little kids to be okay with sitting on a strange grown man's lap...even if that man is Santa it's still pretty weird.

On the eleventh day of Christmas my true love gave to me...

11. Eleven Christmas popcorn tins.

I'm not sure why the popcorn in these things is so good, and I'm not sure why they don't sell them all year round. For some reason they always seem a little stale, but I still look forward to them every Christmas.

On the twelfth day of Christmas my true love gave to me...

12. Twelve Peppermint Mocha Lattes

What can I say? I'm a sucker for a peppermint mocha during the holidays.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
