12 Signs You're In Love With Your Best Friend

All the signs, and your family, point towards a love connection, but sometimes it takes a good song to make you realize that even if you won't say it, you're in love.

12 Signs You're In Love With Your Best Friend

Let's face it girls. Your best friend is your soul mate. When it comes down to it, no one gets us better than the ones we spend ALL our time with. Some people find the love of their life in college, and some people find them in elementary school. Odds are, if your best friend is your soul mate, you've known it for awhile. Everyone else around you has probably known it too, but you're never going to admit it. Maybe you haven't even admitted it to yourself. If you're like me, and like Meg, coming to grips with this can be a hard road to walk down, but the signs are all there.

1. He is the only contact in your phone who has a saved picture.

Because you love seeing his face filling up the entire screen every time he calls you.

2. You have recordings of him singing saved to your iPod.

And you listen to it constantly. It’s number 1 on your Top 25 Most Played playlist.

3. You hate every single girl he has ever dated.

It didn’t matter who they were or what they did to him, you hated all of them and found flaws to point out to him every time you saw him.

4. When something happens, he is the first person you call.

Whether it be good news or bad, big or little, he is always the first one to know. You told him you got into your dream school before you told your mom…

5. When someone asks you how long you’ve been friends, you remember the number down to the months.

Remembering the date you became friends will look cute on a wedding invitation, right?

6. You still have the first gift he ever got you.

You were nine, and it stills means the world to you eleven years later.

7. You like his parents way more than your own.

And you can’t wait to call them Mom and Dad too.

8. He calls you on his drives home instead of his girlfriend.

This is the best part of your day, and you wouldn’t have it any other way.

9. When he asks you for relationship advice, your advice is always “Dump her.”

Not that you are biased in any way.

10. You remember pretty much every interaction you’ve ever had with him.

And can reference it on the spot. Remember that time in 4th grade in November when…

11. You get a lot of joy out of him hating on your ex-boyfriend

Because he sounds SUPER jealous and can’t give you a real reason. So you assume it’s because he was jealous.

12. When someone accuses you of being in love with him, you ardently deny it.

Even though "I Won’t Say I’m In Love" from Hercules is the song that defines your existence.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies.
