What does a best friend mean to you? Someone once asked me this, and truthfully I couldn’t give them just one answer. Having a best friend, or multiple best friends, is one of the greatest things in life. That person becomes someone you just couldn’t live without, they put up with all your drama, they laugh with you, they cry with you, they become a part of your family. You couldn’t imagine a life without them, because let’s face it, life without them would be pretty boring, right? We go through life making new friends as we grow, but once you get to high school and college, that friend group drops. People may be sad about it, but honestly it is a good thing. The people who are left with you, you now know are the ones who will be with you for the rest of your life. A lot of people usually only have one true best friend, but I was lucky because I have a few more than one. Not a day goes by that I feel like I can't count on them to be there for me. Thinking about my best friends now, there are many reasons I want to thank them, and everyone could use this to thank their best friends too.
1. Thank you for always being there for me.
Whether it’s at 5 in the morning, or 11 at night I know that I can always rely on you to be there for me, and I couldn’t thank you guys enough for that
2. Thank you for never judging me.
Let’s face it, we all know I have my weird moments, but you guys have never judged me. I truly thank you for that.
3. Thank you for being weird with me.
The best part about our friendship is that we can all be weird together and enjoy it. Being weird and unique helps to make our friendship different from everyone else’s, and it makes it that much more special to me.
4. Thank you for making sure I don't go crazy.
We all have our moments when we just want to go completely crazy. I may be going through some sort of frustrating situation, or I may be having a hard time, but you guys never let myself go crazy over it, but what's even better is, even if I do crazy, you still stick with me.
5. Thank you for making me laugh to the point I could pee my pants.
Every time we hang out you guys always know how to make me laugh, to the point where I could literally pee my pants. I love that we are always able to laugh with each other; thank you for that
6. Thank you for listening to me rant about something 24/7.
Whether it be about situations I am in, or about how much stress I’m under, or just basically about anything in general, you guys never complain that I complain … a lot.
7. Thank you for making every trip we have super fun.
When we go camping, or to an amusement park, or to a concert, every trip we take together is always super fun, and being able to make amazing memories with you guys is one of the best parts.
8. Thank you for always being up to eat food with me.
Any time we hang out, we usually end up getting food, and I love food, and I am very thankful that you guys are always up to getting food, because, well, food is amazing.
9. Thank you for keeping my secrets.
You guys are some of the only people that I can trust to tell anything to, and I appreciate that you guys always keep my secrets and always have my back through everything.
10. Thank you for never letting me face anything by myself.
Any time I am in a tough situation, you guys always help me through, and you guys never let me face something by myself. I appreciate more than you guys probably know.
11. Thank you for being my person/people.
This one is a big one. The relationship that I have with all of you is like Meredith and Cristina’s relationship on "Grey’s Anatomy." You guys are my people. I love you guys so much, and I couldn’t ever imagine a life without you. I cannot wait to see what sort of memories life has in store for us.
12. Lastly, thank you for never leaving.
People have come in and out of our lives all the time. People who weren’t meant to stay have left, but you guys never did. You have stuck by my side since middle school, and even now, with us being in college or having jobs, nothing has changed. Knowing that I have you guys for life is a huge deal to me. Thank you for never leaving, thank you for always staying. Thank you all for being amazing best friends.
