If you are like many who were conceived during that special Holiday in the month of February, and no I am not talking about President's Day, then you were probably born in the month of November. But even more so, you were probably born very close to Thanksgiving. In fact your birthday might be on Thanksgiving some years. While it is a time for really good food, friends and family, and a time to be extra thankful, it sucks when your birthday is during the Holiday.

1. No one remembers about your birthday

It's my party and I'll cry if I want to is so real when you are a "Thanksgiving baby". Having a party and not a lot of people show up throughout the years is a real struggle.

2. Some people eat to much turkey and sleep through your birthday

Science has proven that eating Turkey releases a chemical that makes you tired. So on Thanksgiving and afterwards when everyone has it for leftovers, you may be ditched because of a full-belly sleepy-head.

3. No one buys you a gift because they are waiting for Black Friday

Gotta buy a bunch of stuff with all the crazies. No room for birthday gifts.

4. Black Friday in general

But seriously? Would you rather go shopping in a mad city or go to a party and have free food and cake?

5. Or Cyber Monday

Same thing as Black Friday, except on Monday and the internet.

6. There are pies instead cake

Love pies, but birthday is meant for cake!

7. Everyone is gone on vacation

All of your friends are gone doing something awesome.

8. Or they are with their families

If they aren't on vacation they are here.

9. School is out

The one time I want to go to school is on my birthday. Everyone really appreciates you and makes you feel special on your birthday.

10. Instead of "Happy Birthday" on your Facebook wall, people just post "Happy Thanksgiving" instead

...it's my birthday too...

11. A lot of other people have their birthdays at or around the same time.

Since a lot of people do their thing on Valentines Day, unfortunately we all have to share our birthdays. Therefore fight over who will be at your party that is at the same time and same place.

12. Your birthday is fairly close to Christmas so less stuff.

Family members: "this is a combined birthday and Christmas present." THE WORST!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
