12 Necessities For The Frio River

If you’re a Texan you have definitely heard of or hopefully been to the Frio river. It is located in Concan, Texas and has camping, tubing, hiking, and country dancing. All these things make for some super great memories! Below here I have provided some helpful trip necessities that will prepare you for the good time that awaits at one of Texas' best vacation spots!

1. Bathing suit of course! (Of course.)

2. Sunscreen because the sun rays will definitely be intensely beaming down on you as you tube the river. Or if you're a girlie who likes to get her tan on, like myself, bring sun tan lotion instead.

3. BOOTS for two-stepping the night away at the Garner State Park dance pavilion!

4. Remember to clear up your storage on your phone so it will be ready for all of the pictures you're going to be taking.

5. Sunglasses because who wants to squint floating down the river? No one! A neck strap is a good idea to keep them from falling off and floating away into the abyss of river.

6. A hat to shield your precious face from the sun because after like two days your face will be super tan and you will want some much needed shade.

7. A TUBE so you can float down the river. Watch out for the rapids and remember to raise your booty for any rude rocks on the bottom!

8. Cards, Dominoes or Cornhole because when you’re winding down in the evenings you will want these fun games that will bring everyone together!

9. You will need river shoes (preferably water shoes or sandals, which are made for it). Old flip flops work, too. Anything is better than nothing because it’s a rocky bottom and your feet are sure to get hurt without them.

10. Radio for blasting those country jams down by the river. You will want to listen to some good tunes that will enhance the good Frio River vibes!

11.GoPro (if you have one). Adventures like floating down the river, jumping off rope swings, and cannon balling off of cliffs all make for exciting GoPro experiences!

12. Good company because going to the Frio River and Garner State Park makes for time away from the world and technology, make sure you’re around loved ones that you are going to want to make fantastic memories with! In the end, this is the necessity that matters most.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
