School is out, the days are long, and the sun is in the sky. Summer is finally here, and that means it's time to start marathoning movies. If you're anything like me, you may be a romantic movie nut. I've seen all of the Nicholas Sparks movies, and I probably have The Titanic memorized. Romantic movies are my absolute favorite, and the best time to watch them is during the summer. If you're bored at home on a Saturday night, make some popcorn and have a movie night with your friends. Even if romantic movies aren't your thing, you can make fun of all the super sweet lines in the movie with your group of friends. You may make some interesting memories!
1. The Notebook
Noah and Allie make me swoon. If you want a love story that packs a punch, definitely check this classic out. Be sure to grab some tissues while you're at it.
2. The Last Song
This is one of my favorite movies to watch during the summer. Watching Ronnie and Will fall in love while saving baby sea turtles is almost a dream come true. Plus, belting to "She Will Be Loved" is a must.
3. High School Musical 3
Yes, High School Musical and High School Musical 2 are both deserving to be on this list, but "Can I Have This Dance" is a cinematic masterpiece. Who wouldn't want to twirl in the rain with the person they love?
4. A Cinderella Story
Hilary Duff and Chad Michael Murray steal my heart every time I watch this movie. Seeing them dance to "I'll Be" by Edwin McCain will probably be one of my all time favorite scenes from any movie. Definitely, keep this movie in your marathon queue.
5. The Titanic
This movie has it all. It has the tear-jerking moments, the moments that make you want to say, "Aww!" and moments that make you jump in surprise. It's no wonder that this movie has stood the test of time. Take a chance on Jack and Rose. They will break your heart.
6. About Time
About Time is such a charming film. You should watch it whether you're in it for the romance, or simply for the time traveling portion of the film. I highly recommend this movie if you're looking for something to make you laugh and if you want something to make you think as well.
7. Stuck In Love
This movie absolutely kills me every time I watch it. While it may not be a summer film, I still enjoy all of the beach scenes that fill this movie up. Also, what's better than a family of writers learning about love? Absolutely nothing, that's what.
8. 500 Days of Summer
While this movie is most definitely not a love story, watching Summer and Tom's relationship form does give me all of the butterflies. Watch this movie, and learn something new about relationships. You might learn something about yourself in the process.
9.The Princess Diaries
The Princess Diaries is a movie with moments of comedy, heartwarming moments and love. Seeing Mia fall for Michael in the end always makes me smile.
10. How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days
This movie makes me cringe, laugh and it makes me giddy with all of the cute moments laced within it. Watch Holly lose a guy in ten days if you want something to make you laugh.
11. The Last Five Years
This musical is everything. If you want to watch something truly life changing take the time to watch this musical. You won't be disappointed.
12. Tangled
Yes, this is an animated Disney movie, but it still counts! Watching Flynn Ryder and Rapunzel fall in love is one of my favorite things about this film. Besides, who can resist singing along to "I See the Light"?
So there you have it. Here are twelve movies that you should marathon this summer! If you love lingering stares, and big romantic gestures, these movies are for you!
