Summer is all fun and games until a rainy day comes along. No more beach, no more morning hike, often times it's difficult to find something fun to do on a rainy day. These movies are vary in genre but definitely pass the time watching by yourself or with friends and family when the rain has you stuck inside.

1. 50 First Dates

This movie is a rom-com classic. It's a non-traditional romance story with tons of funny scenes and moments to make it a re-watchable favorite.

2. Legally Blonde

The stereotypes of sorority girls and college are exaggerated beyond belief in this movie, in a hilariously upbeat film. When Elle experiences heartbreak, she finds herself and realizes that she doesn't need a man to make her happy and successful.

3. Cinderella (the new live-action one)

I was hesitant to watch this movie. It's a classic fairytale that is over-adapted and over-used in movies, and so, I was not looking forward to seeing yet another Cinderella story. However, this movie was great. Somehow, the story came alive in a much more real and romantic way than I had ever seen before, and kept me focused in on the TV the whole time.

4. The Princess Bride

This movie is such a classic. It's a movie that even my father, the man who rarely watches chick-flicks despite having three daughters, enjoys watching from time to time. It's an adventure story more than a love story, and so is easier to get the men in your life to watch with you.

5. Grease

Everyone loves singing along to the catchy music in this amazing musical. It's so fun to watch the dancing and playfulness of the plot play out.

6. Heathers

This is a darker film. It starts out light and fluffy, and focuses on typical high school drama, but, as the movie continues, it takes a turn for the worse, and constantly keeps its audience on the edge of their seats.

7. The Last 5 Years

This movie is a hidden treasure. Not many people have heard of this movie, let alone heard the music from it. This is my favorite movie. I love everything about it and could watch it a million times. It's a musical that takes place from two peoples' point of views. One person's time line moves forward, and the other's backwards, telling the events of their relationship in a period of five years.

8. Jurassic Park

Everyone needs to watch Jurassic Park at least once in their lives. It's an amazing and completely out-of-the-box adventure story that never gets old. (Plus there are lots of fun- yet not as good- sequels to watch too!)

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
