There are still a few months left before summer and everyone’s getting to the point where we’re exhausted from the year of school behind us. We’re dreading the projects and exams that we have yet to do before we’re free—and the uncertainty of that freedom. Let’s turn to Broadway for some songs that will lift our spirits and carry us through the end of finals week and beyond!

1. “Tomorrow” ("Annie")

It’s hard to see it from under a pile of research papers, but “the sun’ll come out tomorrow, so you've got to hang on 'til tomorrow.” Giving up might seem like an appealing option in the thick of it all, but, trust me, it really isn’t.

2. “I Believe in You” ("How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying")

You don’t have to give up, you’re awesome! “I hear the sound of good, solid judgment whenever you talk, yet there's the bold, brave spring of the tiger that quickens your walk.” You’re a go-getter, so go get them!

3. “I Can Do That” ("A Chorus Line")

A little self-confidence goes a long way in the world. The future takes work, but you've just got to look at that work and tell yourself, “I can do that!

4. “Seize the Day” ("Newsies")

Now is the time to seize the day,” so take that task that you’ve been avoiding and figure it out.

5. “Purpose” ("Avenue Q")

Are you a senior who is finally nearly at graduation, but worried about what happens after you get that diploma and walk out the door? Don’t worry, “you’re going to find your purpose.”

6. “The Impossible Dream” ("Man of La Mancha")

Don’t let anybody tell you that your summer or post-graduation plans won’t pan out. So what if your plans are in the stars? Go ahead and follow that star, “no matter how hopeless, no matter how far.” You’ll end up with something great as a result!

7. “Climb Every Mountain” ("The Sound of Music")

Maybe you don’t know what your passion is yet, but that’s no reason to limit yourself. Put in the work that your life deserves! “Climb every mountain, ford every stream, follow every rainbow, 'til you find your dream!

8. “Defying Gravity” ("Wicked")

Elphaba says it better than I could. “I’m through expecting limits ‘cause someone says they’re so. Some things I cannot change, but 'til I try I’ll never know!

9. “To Life” ("Fiddler on the Roof")

Things don’t always work out, but no matter how bad the current situation is, it never hurts to hope for something better—“and if our good fortune never comes, here’s to whatever comes!

10. “Whistle a Happy Tune” ("The King and I")

If you get stuck, things are unclear and scary, and you don’t know what to do, it never hurts to fake it until you make it. “I whistle a happy tune and every single time the happiness in the tune convinces me that I’m not afraid!

11. “Put on a Happy Face” ("Bye Bye Birdie")

You have a lot more impact on the world around you than you think. You can lift up not only yourself, but also the people around you with a smile. “So, spread sunshine all over the place and put on a happy face!

12. “Hold On” ("The Secret Garden")

Remember, no matter how hard the finals crunch gets, it won’t last forever and you will come out alive. “It’s this day, not you, that’s bound to go away.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
