For all those who feel apologetic, look at this and think, "Should I really be sorry?" Probably not.

1. Being yourself

This is something a lot of people struggle with. Going off to college, you want to make friends. It makes sense. Why wouldn’t you want to be well liked? But sometimes, trying too hard to fit in somewhere or with a new group of people can cause you to lose yourself. The reality is, and I know we’ve all heard it a million times, being yourself is the only way you can truly be accepted. Sure, being someone you’re not might make you have friends for a little, but if they don’t know the real you, how are they real friends? If you don’t think the real you is good enough for someone, then obviously you don’t need to waste your time on those people.

2. Cutting off a Toxic Person

Cutting out a negative or toxic influence in your life is honestly one of the best things you can do. It feels liberating to know that you’ve finally escaped something that could have been hurting you so much. Some people say, “I can’t just cut them off.” Uh, actually you can, and it’s great. There’s literally no need to keep someone around who is only dragging you down and if you let them drag you down, then it’s you who gets hurt. And maybe, just maybe, once you do cut them off, they’ll get the memo that they might kind of be a shitty person. If they come to that realization, then they might start to reconsider how they act and you could completely turn their life around.

3. Not Wanting to Settle

Life is too short to settle. So why do we do it? Because we get lazy, tired, and bored, and then forget what we want. So instead of settling for whatever’s easiest or comes first, you should keep what you want in mind and do the best and be the best you can.

4. Not Wanting to Commit

To start off, sometimes you need to commit. But why commit when you don’t have to? Especially when you’re young, you don’t have to commit. You don’t have to commit to a relationship, a job, anything. There’s too much life ahead to commit to things you aren’t ready for. If you get a job and hate it, quit. Just make sure you find a replacement before doing so. If you’re headed into a relationship that you don’t want, end it.

5. Wanting to Stay In

This one’s hard. Your roommates, hallmates, and all your other friends are going out, but you’re just not feeling it. Literally, nothing is wrong with wanting a night in. College is tiring and everyone can use a night in with Netflix, sleeping, and food.

6. Wanting to Go Out

Some people are the life of the party and always want to go out. Nothing is wrong with that, as long as you remain focused on your education. If you’re someone who usually stays in and is feeling adventurous and wants to go out, hit up your friends and do it. Everyone needs to let loose.

7. Not Knowing What You Want

This goes along with not wanting to commit. With all the changes in life, you can’t always make the right/best decisions. Sometimes you just got to go with the flow. Nothing is wrong with questioning things and not knowing everything about your future or even your present.

8. Knowing Exactly What You Want

Some people have it all figured out, and hey, shouts to you. That’s great. If you know what you want, go for it. Don’t let anyone try and change your mind. You got dis.

9. Being Homesick

It happens to everyone and there's no point in denying it. Nothing is wrong with missing your family and friends or just your home in general. Take a weekend and go home and visit. You won't miss anything too important.

10. Skipping the Gym

You can't make it every day. I mean, some of us can't make it any days. Just try to be overall healthy and you'll most likely be fine. Everyone needs a break, especially with the stresses of college. One day off isn't going to make or break your beach bod.

11. Wanting to Pig Out

We all love a nice day/night of eating whatever we want. Again, one time isn't going to make or break you. So if you want that pizza, and that cookie, and those chips, just do it. Just don't do it every day.

12. Not Being Sorry

Sometimes, people expect way too much. The only person you owe anything to is yourself, so don’t be sorry for not feeling bad about something you might not be able to control. And if it is in your control and you’re not sorry, then so be it. YOU DO NOT OWE ANYTHING TO ANYONE. #sorrynotsorry.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
