Merry Christmas!

Now that Thanksgiving is over, we can say that and no one will complain. However, that also means that the semester is almost over and that means people will complain, so how do we survive these last couple weeks? Here's a quick guide.

1. Focus up.

Before Finals, we have a couple weeks of hard work and big projects. Focus up and get them done.

2. Drink coffee?

Personally I do not enjoy the taste of coffee so I'm gonna pass on this, but I've heard it can do anything from wake you up inside to cure cancer. It seems to be pretty popular.

3. Sleeeeeeep.

This one I do enjoy, so I can wholeheartedly encourage sleeping as much as possible during these busy weeks.

4. Go outside!

Even in blustery Newberg, getting outside and spending time in the sun (clouds?) is great for your mental health. Make sure you get this at least every couple days.

5. Call your mom.

This should really need no explanation, plus I'll get brownie points for putting it in. It's a win/win!

6. Study.

Yeah, so it's pretty obvious, but if you don't do it, you're definitely not gonna thrive during finals.

7. Listen to CHRISTMAS MUSIC.

"Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way, oh what fun it is to ride in a one horse open sleigh, HEY." Yeah, Thanksgiving is over so let's do this thing.

8. Please shower.

This one is important for you, but it's even more important for everyone around you. Please.

9. Don't forget to call your mom.

What? Didn't we already have this? Yeah. It's important. Do it twice before finals.

10. See friends.

Friends can change a day from crap to a blast, so take advantage of this wonderful ability and get a break from stress.

11. Set time aside for yourself.

Honestly, if you don't take time for yourself in this busy time, you will not do well. Take time for yourself, whether that means playing the new COD, coloring or simply sitting and not doing homework. Take care of yourself.

Enjoy the last couple weeks before finals (The Finals Countdown?), and may the odds be ever in your favor.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
