11 Way Too True Things About Binge Watching

11 Way Too True Things About Binge Watching
wikipedia

With the new Netflix/binging epidemic that's going on right now I thought I would give a little insight in what in what it's actually like being so into a show that binging is a part of life.

1. Expect lots of crying.

The unfortunate thing about TV now is that the writers love to kill characters, and they're always the characters that we are super attached to. After my favorite character died it took me a whole summer to recover, countless nights sobbing uncontrollably, and it wasn't until I saw that maybe he wasn't really dead that I started to feel a little better.

2. You will suddenly have a ton of useless information.

Not many people can tell what scene it is by just a hairstyle, but after binge watching four different times, you will. Not to mention all of the behind the scenes knowledge from stalking all of the actors and writers twitters, but that's just a given.

3. Say goodbye to your social life.

Remember those friends? No? Well they remember you. I cannot tell you how many times people have requested to see me and I had to respond with, "You can come over if you don't mind watching _______. I have one more season... and I can't stop now."

4. You're suddenly an expert.

After 11 seasons of "Grey's Anatomy," "House," "Criminal Minds," etc., suddenly you're a surgeon, profiler, or expert in the field in which you were watching.

5. Suddenly you're easier to buy for.

We love anything fandom themed ever. Yes, I already have 10 Harry Potter themed clothing and items, but I would love 10 more.

6. Have your own lingo.

Do you know what shipping is? Feels? Same? You will.

7. Thursday nights are sacred.

Every show has a night it airs, and even though while on Netflix watching live seems like a life time away, it always happens. Binge watchers are spoiled and so we want to watch the next episode ASAP, which means whatever night that airs is one that you don't work, have company, or do anything other than maybe live tweet.

8. Fangirling.

If you don't know what fangirling is you probably aren't a binge watcher with a problem. Everyone who is deep in a fandom will do something known as fangilring when they meet someone else who loves their show. it usually consists of squealing and talking about the show until one of you die.

9. Showers, sleep, food? But actually season 2.

We have all been deep in a binge where sleeping is a ten minute power nap in between season and a meal consists of popcorn and dry cereal.

10. Halloween, cosplays, instant couples costumes.

Rachel and Ross, Doctor Who, Harry Potter.... The possibilities are never ending!

11. Even though it isn't real, it is to us.

No matter how much it hurts, we keep going back. After our shows end we always find another.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
