Lizzie McGuire is arguably one of Disney Channel's best television shows ever. That show, along with That's So Raven, Even Stevens and The Suite Life of Zack and Cody were staples of my childhood. But, I think Lizzie McGuire might be the most underrated throwback Disney show. Between her infamous "I want a bra!" meltdown, Ethan Craft, her short-lived relationship with the newspaper boy, the time she was in an Aaron Carter video and dealing with mean girl Kate Sanders, Lizzie has become an icon. Plus, she had a cartoon version of herself...how cool is that?
Lizzie, Gordo, Miranda and the McGuire family offered up some growing pain realness all while sneaking in the usual life lesson at the end of each episode. They're also super relatable.
1. When you have a closet full of clothes but nothing is working for you.
2. Going through the obligatory boy band phase.
3. Having to sign the yearbooks of people you didn't particularly care for in the 8th grade.
4. Dealing with the self-proclaimed hipsters in high school.
5. That one friend that feels the need to Snapchat everything.
6. When your parents don't get your new look.
7. Having to practice filling in answer bubbles in SAT Prep.
8. When you make plans to lay in bed all day and your parents try to ruin it.
9. When you go to random Greek life and club events because the flyer says "Free Pizza."
10. Those days when you're feeling all of the feelings.
11. When a TV show teaches you an important life lesson.
And we get one step closer each and every day, we can figure it out our own way.
