The holidays are great, no doubt about it. Spending time with family and friends after being away for months is the perfect prescription for stress and home sickness. Relaxing by the tree, good food, and endless cups of hot cocoa. However, when it comes to shopping for those loved ones, the holidays are a little less joyful and full of merry. There are several thoughts that run through our head while battling the crowds and angry shoppers. If you thought Walmart on a Sunday was bad... you haven't seen anything yet.
1. "OK... time to find a parking spot. Wow, this place is crowded! I guess everyone had the same idea. Maybe I shouldn't have waited until this close to Christmas to go shopping. Oh well, there can't be this many people in the mall, they're probably not going to the stores I need to go in."
2. "This is going to be so easy. I know who I'm shopping for, what to get and where to get it... this is going to be a piece of cake! Whoever said shopping for the holidays must have hated Christmas, I love this!"
3. "I'm exhausted, I must have been in this one store for at least an hour. Oh, it's only been 15 minutes, and where do all of these people come from? I still have time, sure I haven't purchased a single gift, but I have all day. I have to find the perfect gift."
4. "OK lady, just pick out what you want and move... nobody has time to wait, ugh!"
5. "I have five different candles for five different relatives... I think I'm giving up. I can't give up... put those candles back, you've got shopping to do! We will find the perfect gift, no matter what!"
6. "He would love this! It's exactly what they've wanted...now, does it come in their size? OK, cool... they exact size I need is on the display. Do I get a sales clerk or take it off myself. I don't want to leave a naked display in the window. Screw it, I'll take it off myself. Did that lady just cut in front of me?"
7. "Could this line get any longer? where does it even end? Oh, there it is! Nope, still going. Jesus Christ this line is long. By the time I check out and get back to my car I'll only have an hour to finish shopping, and that's clearly not enough time."
8. "I have to get all of this shopping done in one day. I will not make two trips -- I repeat, I will not make two trips! Dear lord, this traffic is ridiculous! Screw this, I'll just go to Walmart!"
9. "Why did I even think this would be the easy choice? The toy isle looks like a tornado hit it and there are children everywhere! Hey kid, where are your parents? This place smells like sweaty feet."
10. "Well, OK... I've literally only walked out with one gift. At least I can check this one off of my list."
11. "By the end of this, I'm so going to be broke."
