Although Mother's Day is a great time to try some of these things out, our moms deserve more than just one day of the year where we make them feel special. There are so many more things to do with your mom on Mother's day or any other day other than brunch.
1. Go on a weekend getaway
Whether it's just to a cute city in the state you live in or a little bit further away, take the weekend to yourselves and find a cozy Airbnb to spend some quality time together!
2. Thrift the day away
If your mom loves to shop, take her thrifting and spend the day searching through all of the items and finding hidden gems.
3. Do some yoga together
Make it a day of relaxation and get your chakras aligned with some yoga that will leave you both feeling refreshed and ready to take on the day.
4. Take a hike
If your mom loves the outdoors, go on a hike somewhere you've never been and enjoy the time together while you break a sweat and admire nature.
5. Have a game night
If your mom's anything like mine, she loves a good game of "Trouble". Break out your favorite board games and compete to no end! You'd be surprised how fun a game of "Candy Land" can be after years of not touching the box.
6. Have a pizza party
When dinner time comes around, break out all the goods and make your own pizzas! Start with the dough and then set up an array of toppings to personalize your own pizzas.
7. Plan a picnic
Instead of just sitting inside and making some lunch, put together a nice little advantage and soak up some vitamin D while enjoying your food in a nice park or a relaxing beach.
8. Take a cooking class
Try out something new and sign up for a class instead of making a recipe you already know by heart! It can be a competition to see if you or your mom is truly the better chef.
9. Take a trip down memory lane with some old photo albums
If your mom has photos from when she was younger, they will definitely be worth seeing. If those don't exist in your household, then it's always a good time making fun of your awkward stage too.
10. Host a party for her and her friends
You've probably noticed that your mom spends most of her time by herself or with your family, so plan a little something for her and her closest friends so for once she doesn't have to worry about making sure everyone else is okay.
11. See a Broadway show
Hit the town and see a live show to spice up the evening! You can even dress according to the show you're seeing to make it more fun.
