11 Struggles Of Shopping On eBay
eBay

Shopping online in general is fun, but eBay is a great place to browse for unique or older stuff that you normally don’t find at the mall or even on Amazon. But despite its convenience, there are some struggles that can make shopping on eBay more difficult for the average buyer.

1. When you can't find even the most basic item

A simple, white crop-top should be easy to find, right? Nope. Even with filtering, there are always lace and floral tops to wade through before even catching a glimpse of what you're actually looking for. What a pain.

2. Clicking on one item and then getting lost in the dozens of suggested items

You only want to look at a few of them, but then you scroll down to the suggestions and look at all of these other ones! It's always good to weigh your options, at least.

3. Finding something you like before realizing it's not in your size

[rebelmouse-proxy-image https://media.rbl.ms/image?u=%2Ffiles%2F2016%2F08%2F03%2F636058542200934823-2130312722_Stewart.gif&ho=https%3A%2F%2Faz616578.vo.msecnd.net&s=955&h=9a52350b6deab27ef106b8a4fcf3faf5dde47f82575b86e1d2b518a3c0083698&size=980x&c=4021482708 crop_info="%7B%22image%22%3A%20%22https%3A//media.rbl.ms/image%3Fu%3D%252Ffiles%252F2016%252F08%252F03%252F636058542200934823-2130312722_Stewart.gif%26ho%3Dhttps%253A%252F%252Faz616578.vo.msecnd.net%26s%3D955%26h%3D9a52350b6deab27ef106b8a4fcf3faf5dde47f82575b86e1d2b518a3c0083698%26size%3D980x%26c%3D4021482708%22%7D" expand=1]

Forgetting to filter your search can lead to disappointment. Oh, well— on to the next one.

4. When an item is more expensive than you would expect

That "Yu-Gi-Oh" duel disk is very old, so it should be selling for cheap—except when sellers price them as high as $200, and you start questioning your shopping habits. Do I really need one of those? Not for even $100.

5. Trying to decide whether or not to bid higher

[rebelmouse-proxy-image https://media.rbl.ms/image?u=%2Ffiles%2F2016%2F08%2F03%2F636058532094740124243243413_think%2520gif.gif&ho=https%3A%2F%2Faz616578.vo.msecnd.net&s=516&h=70fc56c192cf41d35a21fc48cb1712553c99ad329d1e33598ac147b179b892b2&size=980x&c=2994481689 crop_info="%7B%22image%22%3A%20%22https%3A//media.rbl.ms/image%3Fu%3D%252Ffiles%252F2016%252F08%252F03%252F636058532094740124243243413_think%252520gif.gif%26ho%3Dhttps%253A%252F%252Faz616578.vo.msecnd.net%26s%3D516%26h%3D70fc56c192cf41d35a21fc48cb1712553c99ad329d1e33598ac147b179b892b2%26size%3D980x%26c%3D2994481689%22%7D" expand=1]

You're close to going over budget, but you think you can afford to bid another $10 or so. Or can you?

6. When the bid reaches beyond your budget

[rebelmouse-proxy-image https://media.rbl.ms/image?u=%2Ffiles%2F2016%2F08%2F03%2F636058534257003452-1980206234_thatssotrue.com_1241_1329759498.gif&ho=https%3A%2F%2Faz616578.vo.msecnd.net&s=59&h=83c5b32fc9beb1d27ece0b025e7abf08814ecdabe7de58a4a4a722e70649e0f9&size=980x&c=3929215702 crop_info="%7B%22image%22%3A%20%22https%3A//media.rbl.ms/image%3Fu%3D%252Ffiles%252F2016%252F08%252F03%252F636058534257003452-1980206234_thatssotrue.com_1241_1329759498.gif%26ho%3Dhttps%253A%252F%252Faz616578.vo.msecnd.net%26s%3D59%26h%3D83c5b32fc9beb1d27ece0b025e7abf08814ecdabe7de58a4a4a722e70649e0f9%26size%3D980x%26c%3D3929215702%22%7D" expand=1]

So close, and yet so far. Curse you and your sensible spending habits! Over to the next auction.

7. Wanting to place a snipe bid but realizing you'll be busy at the time the auction ends

So you just place your bid as close to the end time as possible and hope for the best.

8. When someone outbids you at the last moment

[rebelmouse-proxy-image https://media.rbl.ms/image?u=%2Ffiles%2F2016%2F08%2F03%2F636058535184421101-1717724588_rage%2520gif.gif&ho=https%3A%2F%2Faz616578.vo.msecnd.net&s=20&h=bf1c7b7ad317733e77140a119b6e8b159116a02968467ee540c13731ae59cd07&size=980x&c=1039594176 crop_info="%7B%22image%22%3A%20%22https%3A//media.rbl.ms/image%3Fu%3D%252Ffiles%252F2016%252F08%252F03%252F636058535184421101-1717724588_rage%252520gif.gif%26ho%3Dhttps%253A%252F%252Faz616578.vo.msecnd.net%26s%3D20%26h%3Dbf1c7b7ad317733e77140a119b6e8b159116a02968467ee540c13731ae59cd07%26size%3D980x%26c%3D1039594176%22%7D" expand=1]

So rude! It's funny and exciting when you do it, but if someone else gets the jump on you, it's rude.

9. Waiting for your item to arrive

[rebelmouse-proxy-image https://media.rbl.ms/image?u=%2Ffiles%2F2016%2F08%2F03%2F636058535856918394-841915441_cookie%2520monster.gif&ho=https%3A%2F%2Faz616578.vo.msecnd.net&s=950&h=4c69d70cfc6b12d0d1165ad2a7a76bd9cc2aca27ea58b5dc83314dbd868a7fbd&size=980x&c=964553521 crop_info="%7B%22image%22%3A%20%22https%3A//media.rbl.ms/image%3Fu%3D%252Ffiles%252F2016%252F08%252F03%252F636058535856918394-841915441_cookie%252520monster.gif%26ho%3Dhttps%253A%252F%252Faz616578.vo.msecnd.net%26s%3D950%26h%3D4c69d70cfc6b12d0d1165ad2a7a76bd9cc2aca27ea58b5dc83314dbd868a7fbd%26size%3D980x%26c%3D964553521%22%7D" expand=1]

Yay, you won! But you still have to wait another five to seven business days for it. Will it come in time for whatever you need it for?

10. When the item looks different from how it was described

Maybe it was the lighting in the photo, or something might have happened to it while en route to your house, but it doesn't look anything like what you ordered. But returns take so much effort...

11. Trying not to remember the item is used

[rebelmouse-proxy-image https://media.rbl.ms/image?u=%2Ffiles%2F2016%2F08%2F03%2F636058540451075735-345988852_jack%2520sparrow%2520gif.gif&ho=https%3A%2F%2Faz616578.vo.msecnd.net&s=799&h=35025731fe6224f4f5b262dc0c0038a142650f70c8c3e1fffadf8599ff341019&size=980x&c=3430023281 crop_info="%7B%22image%22%3A%20%22https%3A//media.rbl.ms/image%3Fu%3D%252Ffiles%252F2016%252F08%252F03%252F636058540451075735-345988852_jack%252520sparrow%252520gif.gif%26ho%3Dhttps%253A%252F%252Faz616578.vo.msecnd.net%26s%3D799%26h%3D35025731fe6224f4f5b262dc0c0038a142650f70c8c3e1fffadf8599ff341019%26size%3D980x%26c%3D3430023281%22%7D" expand=1]

That is the whole point of eBay—selling old stuff that you don't want anymore. Just remember to wash them first if you ordered clothes.

As they tend to say, its the most wonderful time of the year! People have begun to compile their Christmas to-do lists in anticipation for the season of sugarplums and gingerbread.

The history of the Christmas to-do lists goes back hundreds of years, almost as old as the holiday itself, however, people tend to fall out of this habit as they get older. This is unfortunate, as the theme of Christmas tradition can add bundles of the spirit of joy to your families.

Holidays With A Small Family

I wouldn't trade what we have for the world.

4853
Matt Johnsn

When I was a kid I always went to my grandparents house whenever we celebrated any sort of holiday. We were a decently sized family and it was always a blessing to be in their house and surrounded by love during the holiday season. However, that all changed when my grandfather passed away and my grandmother was diagnosed with Alzheimer's. The family then began to drift apart and life went on, and we ended up all celebrating our own holidays with other family members.

Safe Spaces Or Regressive Spaces?

Turns out shielding yourself from ideas can be detrimental to your ability to learn

College is a place for people who want to learn. That is the primary function of any academic institution. Its purpose is not to coddle us, nor should the community always be in agreement with us. We are supposed to surround ourselves with a variety of viewpoints that challenge us to learn, not the same repetitive points of view that make us happy.
