People working in the food industry deserve a lot more credit than they receive. Working in the kitchen of a restaurant for a few years has made me appreciate the effort it takes to upkeep a food business. I believe everyone should experience the struggles that come along with a food industry job at least once in their life. For anybody that has worked in a kitchen before, this one is for you!

1. You permanently smell like food

It's a struggle to even get the stench off your skin let alone your clothes

2. When the waiting staff mess up and you have to remake the food again

"You have got to be kidding me"

3. Constantly shouting "BEHIND" a million times a day to avoid other employees

It becomes such a habit, you have to stop yourself from saying it outside of work

4. When you've worked doubles all week and you can barely function anymore

You don't know tired until you close the night before and wake up at 8 am the next day

5. Waiting staff think standing near the window will make their food cook faster

No I can not make the oven cook your food any faster

6. Having a short staffed kitchen and running around like a crazy person

"No, no, i'm fine"

7. When a slow shift makes you feel like you've been working for hours but it's actually been 20 minutes

Only 12 more hours to go!

8. When customers complicate orders by adding a million and one modifications

"Can i get my pizza with extra sauce, light cheese, 1/2 meat, 1/2 veggie, 1/4 no onion, 1/4 extra tomato, well done, but don't burn it. Oh, and make sure you do it with a smile!"

9. Having no social life because you close until 2 am every night

"Sure i can hang out if you wait up until 2 am"

10. When you bust your butt in the kitchen all day, and the waiting staff brag about their tips

"You're welcome floor staff"

11. When customers walk in 2 minutes before closing time

Just when you think you are done and all cleaned up, there are always these type of customers.

Although my job can be very frustrating and tiring, the experience has taught me hard work and better appreciation for the work that people do. I have made many great friends from my job i know this will be relatable to them and anybody that works in a restaurant.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
