Everyone starts discussing houses, traits, personalities; they start beaming with pride at the mention of their house; they start defending their house as others call it out on certain things. But it all brings you back to the same burning question--what house am I, really? You know what you thought you were. Pottermore said something different. Your friends have conflicting opinions on the subject. (Though in the grand scheme of things, this *may* be an insignificant struggle, we could all use some light reading accompanied by Harry Potter gifs.) But for those uncertain of what the real Sorting Hat would say, you know the following all too well.
1. The house Pottermore gave you is not the house you were expecting.
Wait...I'm a Slytherin? I thought I was going to be a Hufflepuff...
2. Pottermore sorts you into a different house the second time around.
With the website revamped and the quiz to be retaken, this test should confirm either my first suspicion or the accuracy of my first sorting. Instead...
3. This second house sorting is still not where you expected to be.
...Neither. A third house: Ravenclaw. *Sigh*
4. The nicknames
Yes, I consider myself a Slytherpuff. My brother is a Huffleclaw.
5. Picking a side when there's Quidditch being played.
Who do I cheer for?!
6. Everyone starts talking about what house they are and you just start to wonder.
While it's fun to think about, I just want a solid answer.
7. Wanting to wear house clothing
When watching a Harry Potter movie or going to an event, what do I wear? Yellow and black? Green and silver? Just a rainbow?
8. Trying not to pick a favorite house because you don't know if it's really yours.
What if the house I like best does not turn out to be my true Hogwarts house?
9. Relating to various typical house quotes.
Because I say "me" to half of them.
10. Always cheering for more than one house.
So many teams to support, so little time.
11. Getting asked, "What Hogwarts house are you?"
I have no simple answer. Just that "Hogwarts is my home!"
