Strong, opinionated women have been criticized since the beginning of time for their loud voices and solid opinions. Whether it's playing a 'guy' sport, always knowing the answer in class or being perfectly happy with being single, independent women always seem to hear these phrases over and over again.

1. Boys don't like loud girls.

Just because I tell it like it is doesn't mean boys won't like me. Besides, why do I care?

2. Ladies should always be polite.

Sometimes I don't want to be polite. Sometimes I want to be pissed.

3. You should try a girl's sport instead, guy's don't like when you beat them at something they're good at.

Some girls like football, basketball and hockey. Get over it.

4. If you always speak your mind, boys will be intimidated by you.

Are we expected to go through life agreeing with what everyone says? Opinions make us human, so let me have mine.

5. Valentine's Day must suck since you're single.

Being single doesn't mean I'm sad. I have me, and I'm pretty awesome.

6. Here, Sweetie, I'll do that for you.

Thank you, 'Sweetie', but I can do it myself.

7. You're going to quit your job when you have kids, right?

While some moms want to stay at home, which is amazing and wonderful, some women have worked hard to achieve their job security and want to stay after they have a baby.

8. You're so bossy.

If knowing what I'm doing and being assertive make me bossy, oh well. Now please cancel my three o'clock appointment.

9. Smart girls are ugly.

Intelligence does not equal inferiority. Being smart doesn't make you ugly, it make you excellent.

10. You eat like a man

No, I eat like a person. Now, get me another piece of pizza.

11. What are you, a feminist or something?

Would that be so terrible? I am a woman; I am smart and strong and have just as much potential as any man. I am woman, hear me roar.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
