It’s February, so now that you’re really deep into the madness that is school, papers, and endless amounts of reading, it might be time to really reach for the stars and hit your true procrastination potential. Everyone is always “bragging” about how great of a procrastinator they are (okay maybe not bragging, but let’s be honest everyone is always talking about how bad of a procrastinator they are.) The real question however is: How good of a procrastinator are you really?
1. You don’t even know which assignments are due until about 2 A.M. the night of.
2. You have binge-watched "Gilmore Girls," "Friends," "Orange is The New Black," "House of Cards" and about 42389024 other series on Netflix.
3. You’ve taken just about every Buzzfeed quiz out there. You know just what type of food you are, who your celebrity BFF is and exactly what your spirit animal is.
4. Online Shopping. Need I say more?
5. You sit down and tell yourself you’re going to work about seven times before you actually even crack open the textbook.
6. Red Bull, coffee and sleepless nights are your best friends. (Gotta finish that work some time).
7. You dread the evil coming of Sunday night, when you actually have to get work done and start the week.
8. You started young. You don't just procrastinate in college. Did you start in high school? Nah, you honed the skill as a young middle school tween.
9.When given the choice between work or food, you always pick food. In fact, when given the choice between doing work and pretty much anything, you pick the latter. Cleaning your room, working out, banging your head into a wall continuously. Bring it on; all better than actually working. You have even procrastinated procrastinating before.
10. Mornings are your worst nightmare. A good night's sleep? That’s not something that’s even in your vocabulary.
11. You’re procrastinating right now by reading this
Bonus: You go out every night with friends and always say next week will be different and you’ll actually do what you need to get done. But “next week when you stop procrastinating” never comes.
So are you the ultimate procrastinator or do you still have some work to do to become one? Let’s be honest, even if you have some room for improvement, you probably will procrastinate honing those skills. And hey, procrastinators have more fun. Look at the great things we get to do instead of writing that boring paper. Have any other great techniques? Leave your best procrastination story/technique in the comments below.
