11 Signs That You Need To Get It Together

Sometimes, you need someone to tell you when it's time to get yourself together.

11 Signs That You Need To Get It Together
  • You forget everything: You forget to eat or you forget the assignment that is due today. Or you forget to even text your best friend back.
  • You cry at least 10 times a day over the littlest things:
  • Whether it’s crying because the café ran out of turkey burgers or because you are sharing a Netflix account with someone who’s watching the same show as you and you lost your spot, this is a real problem. When I say everything, someone just saying, “I like your shoes” sets you over the edge.
  • Even though you abide by your planner you somehow forget something:
  • You have a strict day-to-day planner schedule but either you missed something or you just completely forgot and you’re scrambling to figure out how to fix it and make everything better.
  • When people want to make plans with you, you die a little inside: “I would sure love to hangout with you and eat a million Girl Scout cookies” is what your heart says, but you know better. Or you don’t because sometimes I don’t.
  • Pulling an all-nighter has become so normal: Sleep is no longer a necessity because you’ve got 48 hours worth of things to do within 24 hours. Some call that impossible, so I guess you can call me Tom Cruise.
  • You still somehow manage to keep up on Netflix and all your shows: No matter how much stuff you have to do, you honestly believe that watching Netflix, and keeping up with all of your shows, keep balance and a routine in your life. It’s non-negotiable--you must do it.
  • You literally take everything day-by-day: Thinking about tests or assignments that are due next week makes you want to hide in a hole and never come out until it’s summer time.
  • You call your parents just to hear their voice: People say, “your parents can’t fix everything” but honestly they haven’t met my parents. You literally call your parents just to hear their voice. It ignites a spark that reminds you that you’re still alive, and that someone loves you (even though it’s not your professors or college in general).
  • You don’t dare to even look at your bank account: The absolute thought of seeing the number of how broke you are makes you just want to cry and think about alternative options to what you’re doing now (AKA twerking).
  • You pray a lot: Whether it’s silently, or at night. I find myself praying that I just make it to class on time, or I pray that I win the lotto. Either way, I pray.
  • Reading this list almost has you in tears: Reading this list makes you realize that it’s totally you, and you honestly do need to get your life together.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
