11 Signs Food Is Your Soulmate

Food. Such a simple word to describe the greatest thing ever gifted to mankind by the universe. It has the power to build or break countries, to cause pleasure and to bring even the strongest man to his knees. The Italian language doesn't even have a word for food; Italians describe each food item individually, the way you would address a loved family member by name.

Some people love food more than other people do. Some people love food more than they love people. Here are 11 signs that you are one of these individuals and that your true soulmate is food.

1. Food > Everything Else.

You talk about food non-stop. Your conversations are 80% food, 20% everything else. All conversation comes back to food. You are used to seeing the eyes roll as you derail a conversation mid-sentence to blurt out some random food related thought.

2. Delicious food makes your tongue stumble and your toes curl.

As a true foodie, you will recognize this facial expression, as it probably crosses your face several times a week. Eating is a sensual experience, and sometimes your friends don't get that.

3. You know that chocolate is its own food group.

Need I say more?

4. You don't share food well.

Your friends know better than to eat your food without permission. And heaven help the one who buys the wrong food for you. "I said a 20 piece McNugget, not a six!"

5. Mac and Cheese is actual heaven for you.

As in, those 'pearly gates' are made of mac and cheese, not precious jewels. The clouds are probably mashed potatoes and sunshine is melted butter. You're drooling now. It's OK.

6. Pizza is life.

All you care about is pizza and, like, one other person. Your t-shirt says it, so it's true. And you come running like a cat to catnip when the holy word is whispered.

7. Pizza is so good it ranks twice on your most important foods list.

And fitness is a real struggle for you. The desire to be fit or achieve your perfect body rarely outweighs your desire for food. You literally work out just so you can continue stuffing your face on a daily basis.

8.You love food.

All you think about is food. When you wake up, you plan breakfast. While eating breakfast, you plan lunch. And the mere thought of skipping a meal can send you to the brink of hysterics.

9. You love food more than you love people.

Food understands you. Food is beautiful. In fact, most of the pictures in your phone are of food. People ask if your significant other really exists because you have trouble producing a photo of them on demand.

10. You NEVER miss a meal if you can help it.

Just, no. Nope. That's your reaction when your friends try to make plans during meal time hours. No, you don't want to run errands before dinner. It can wait; your tummy can't.

11. You're ALWAYS hungry. Always.

No matter what, you will always be hungry. After meals, while at work, between meals, while at class, while eating, while sleeping. Hanger is a real (and frequent) emotion for you. Oh, and you probably dream about food on a regular basis.

Food soulmates are the best. Truly. Bon Appetit!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
