11 Signs You Have Belonged To A Dance Company

1. You're at dance just as much as you're at school.

Dance from 4:30-9:30? Yep, every Monday.

2. "Okay, one more time and you're done" really means three more times... maybe four.

As reassuring as "one more time" is to hear, we all know it's not very reliable.

3. You know how to look like you're having a great time when you're actually dying inside.

"Make it look like you're enjoying yourself!"

4. Subs are the best/worst.

It's so great to have a break from your everyday killer workout, but then again now you're just totally wasting your time.

5. Doing leaps across the floor is basically like flying.

It's just the best. The dessert to every dance class.

6. Bobby pins...everywhere!

In your shoes, in your shower, stuck in your rug, under the couch, the list goes on and on.

7. You don't remember the last time your feet looked presentable.

Point shoes only make your feet look nice when they're on let's be real.

8. You have bruises all over your body, all the time.

No idea where they came from, or how they got there, but they hurt like crazy!

9. When someone says "Dance isn't hard," it's like someone insulted your family and everything you stand for in life.

How dare you...

10. Hearing the word "Improv" is like getting punched in the stomach.

The pressure is on!

11. You have friends that are there for you no matter what.

They've had your back through it all. They've seen you at your best and worst and have struggled through every turning combination with you, every time.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time.
