Winter break; that means a whole month off for us college students. No homework, tests, presentations, or added stress. You could also call it the best month ever. Some students have a lot more time on their hands when it comes to being on break from school. The latest and greatest pastime for us is Netflix and binge-watching shows, old and new. So, I’ve compiled a list of 11 shows you should binge over break with all your newfound extra time.

1. Gilmore Girls

I used to watch some episodes of this show when they were on TV, but I never got to understand the story behind the show. I finished the whole series in about 2 months, which is the quickest I've ever done so. It was SO GOOD. Just the right amount of drama, too much laughter, and a whole lot of coffee. And, I finished it just in time to be caught up for the next series, which brings me to my next recommendation...

2. Gilmore Girls: A Year In The Life

Wait until you're done with the older episodes, because it will make so much more sense and you'll be able to relate to it better. This spin-off was just what every Gilmore Girls fan needed; to see what happened after Rory graduated from college, who Lorelei ended up with and what adventures they were going on now. Those last four words will keep you wanting more, that's all I'll say about that.

3. The Office

Just like Gilmore Girls, I used to watch select episodes with my parents when they watched them. I thought they were funny but never really got into it. I just started watching the series the other day and I'm already halfway through season 2. It's so funny. Just what every college student needs as finals were approaching. It's worth the watch.

4. One Tree Hill

I'll admit, I was adamant about not watching this show because I didn't understand what all the fuss was about. My sister kept nagging me about watching it so, finally, one night I watched the first episode. I wasn't impresses, but she told me to keep watching. Boy am I glad I did. To this day, we still find ways to plug in the perfect OTH quote into whatever we're doing, or explain how something in our lives is so similar. As I've said for the other three, it's so good.

5. Fuller House

Full House was always on at my house. All of my sisters and I loved it, and so did my mom. I always wondered if they would make more episodes, but since it has been so long I kind of gave up hope. However, last winter they shocked everyone by announcing a spin-off which focused on DJ and her three boys living in the notorious San Fransisco house with Kimmy and Stephanie by her side helping her raise her kids. 3 girls raising 3 boys (and Kimmy's daughter)...interesting.

6. Friends

I still have yet to finish all of the seasons for this one, but who doesn't love Friends?! This show came out in 1994, before my time, and it's still insanely popular with all generations. Not too many shows are the same way, especially with how different everything is now.

7. Gossip Girl

I have to admit, I've never watched this show, but again, my sister is nagging me to watch it immediately. She was glued to it for weeks straight. I think I'm going to have to take her advice and jump on the bandwagon for this one, and you should, too.

8. Glee

Another favorite show of mine when I was in middle school. I just found out this was on Netflix, so I am adding this to my personal watch list as well. This show was everything in middle school and it's still quite popular to teenagers today.

9. Malcom In The Middle

Again, just finding out this is on Netflix, oh my gosh. There's not enough time in the world for me to watch all the shows I want to watch over break now! This show is a classic, and Frankie Muniz was always my favorite. Not to mention the show is all about being the middle child, just like I am. So many struggles.

10. Stranger Things

I'm not even sure what the plot of this show is exactly but it catches so many people's attention and has so many good reviews. I think it's worth a watch at some point, even if it's not during break. This is definitely up there for me in my watch list.

11. That 70's Show

Classic show right here, need I say more?!

Enjoy your time off over break and check off some shows on your personal watch list, there's no better time to do so. Take a break, relax; we deserve it! I know I will definitely be spending a lot of my down time watching some of these myself.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
