"My hobbies include sulking, going to Hot Topic, writing poetry, and not being understood by anyone around me. My soundtrack includes some really underground bands you probably haven't heard of; like Fall Out Boy, My Chemical Romance, and Pierce the Veil."

If this sounds like you at any point in your life, you probably went through a scene or an emo phase when you were younger. Don't worry, lots of us have been there. Here are 11 things we all remember from our scene phase.

1) Not knowing who this girl was, but knowing you wanted to be her.

I mean, she's the epitome of everything perfectly scene.

2) Shopping exclusively at Hot Topic or Zumies.

3) And all of your outfits looked like this.

4) Saying "I love you in" dinosaur.

I'm still trying to pretend I never said this, but embarrassingly enough, I did.

5) My Chemical Romance, Fall Out Boy, Pierce the Veil, Black Veil Brides, to name a few of your favorite bands.

6) Perfecting the "myspace angle" for all of your pictures.

Selfies weren't even cool back then, and we were doing them.

7) Weird, swoopy bangs.

8) Teasing your hair so high you grew two inches taller.

9) Using so much eyeliner you looked like a raccoon.

10) You couldn't leave the house without converse or vans.

Bonus points if you and your friends personalized them with sharpies.

11) Swearing that it wasn't just a phase.

But thank God it was, right?

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
