If you aren’t tuning in to The Bieb’s new album, "Purpose," then you’re missing out on some quality jams. However, when one looks a little deeper into the track list, it seems like a cry for help. Justin has been the butt of so many jokes throughout his years of stardom and he’s gone through a phase of really bad behavior, but now he is obviously trying to be better and he, like everyone else, deserves a little forgiveness.
1. He jumped into fame really fast at a very young age.
Justin Bieber went from a little boy raised by a single mom singing on YouTube to an international superstar in barely one year’s timespan. I can’t imagine what it would feel like to go from having almost nothing to anything you wanted in such a short time. If you claim that you wouldn’t be affected by that change, you’re probably lying and you’re probably not a very vulnerable 12-year-old.
2. Any job where a multitude of teenagers are obsessed with you would be exhausting.
Teenagers are vicious, especially when it comes to social media. Upon his discovery, everyone either loved or hated the Biebs – and both sides were very vocal about it. From having people claim that they want to murder you while other people are trying to memorize every single move you had made in your life, I’d say he handled it a lot better than I might have.
3. He tried to make the jokes into good fun.
People made fun of his squeaky (but completely incredible) voice, they made fun of him for being young and writing songs about love, they made fun of his hair, of the way he walked, they made fun of everything. Still, Justin Bieber tried to keep the laughs going by signing up for a comedy roast.
4. He’s extremely talented.
Talent is no excuse for bad behavior, but there is no denying that he is gifted. Some of his music may not be your style, but they boy’s got pipes.
5. He apologized.
6. He’s actually trying to do better.
A lot of celebrities get into trouble and give a blanket apology then go back to whatever they were doing. Justin is actually trying to make his image better, but he can’t accomplish that if everyone is still continually putting him down.
7. His tattoos are cool.
Not entirely a reason for forgiveness, but definitely something that deserves to be noted. Justin Biebers rocks the tats.
8. He can’t win.
He’s tried to be the sweetheart and he got ridiculed. He’s tried to be the tough guy and he got ridiculed. He’s tried to be the hot guy and he got ridiculed. It’s really unfair to try so hard to fit a mold and for it never to be right. I hope he keeps trying to just be himself.
9. "Purpose" is so good.
I’ve had this album on repeat since it was released. It’s obvious that it comes from a place of not knowing where you stand and how to make things right. It’s also incredible.
10. He’s using his platform for good.
The attacks on Paris have struck us all in a very visceral way. Justin was at a show when he heard of the attacks and stopped to pray over the people affected. He knows he has a huge public influence and is using that to not only graciously love people, but turning to God, as well.
11. Basically, just listen to I’ll Show You and you’ll feel for him.
“This life’s not easy; I’m not made out of steel. They forget that I’m human, they forget that I’m real.”
