11 Reasons The "Travel Bug" Is The Best Bug That Bites

You know how they say "not all those who wander are lost"? Well, it's true. Although sometimes it ends up that you do get lost while wandering, those that fall in love with traveling are never lost while doing so. The world is a big place full of so many new, different and amazing places to see. So, do yourself a favor. Get a passport and go see some of those places. Here are ten reasons you will never regret traveling.

1. There is a story on every page of a passport.

Whether it's your bus breaking down for hours on the side of an African highway in 100 degree weather, or watching the sunrise with your best friends from a beach in Barcelona, traveling turns you into a story teller.

2. You grow roots across the world.

Traveling makes you fall in love with cities you may have never known existed. It becomes so easy to create memories in these places and incredibly hard to leave them.

3. You will have new experiences.

Food, fashion and fun are just some of the things you get to try while abroad.

4. You might hate them, but at least you can say you tried.

The key word here is try. The best part about it is that if you don't love it, you never have to do it again! Who knows though, you might try a Turkish bath and realize it's an absolutely life changing experience.

5. Your exotic social media posts are bound to get above the average amount of likes and inspire your followers.

I mean how often do your Twitter and Instagram followers see a photo of you with a camel on their feed? Chances are it's not very often. Personally, I think you're entitled to all those likes and you might encourage one of your "likers" to add that destination to their list of "must see places".

6. You truly appreciate the world around you.

Yes, binge watching Netflix is great and so is cellular data, but it's also nice to enjoy the company of others and soak in the beauty of your surroundings. You learn to put away the computer and phone, and not depend on constant contact.

7. Two words: new friends.

There is a special bond established between friends that are made while traveling. Of course your friends at home could never be replaced, but they will also never understand your new found love for churros (real ones...with chocolate), Lemon Fanta or copas!

8. You learn.

Traveling teaches an individual and allows them to grow. A traveler learns about themselves and about others.

9. ...learn A LOT.

While abroad, travelers also develop a sense of direction and learn how to get around foreign places! It might take getting on the wrong metro a time or two, but eventually you'll get the hang of the public transportation.

10. Absence makes the heart grow fonder.

Traveling is great, but the best part about it is that it's temporary. You won't realize it at first, but it's the little things you miss the most. The best way to look at being away is that you will be coming home to the people (and food) you love after weeks or months abroad.

11. You're guaranteed a life full of adventures.

After traveling and falling in love with people and places around the world, it becomes an addiction. Ideas for the next adventure begin to form before the current one has even ended.

So what is stopping you? Sure, we all have an irrational fear of ugly passport pictures, but it happens to the best of us. Trust me; there is no judgement from the people at security or customs. Go out, get lost and find yourself. You never know what you could be missing. Life is too short to stay in one place!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
