On Friday, January 13th, Netflix released the highly anticipated show "A Series of Unfortunate Events". The show had 8 great episodes that followed the story of Violet, Klaus and Sunny Baudelaire. Below is just 11 reasons why you should watch A Series of Unfortunate Events on Netflix.
1. The Books
The show is based off of the book series written by Lemony Snicket aka Daniel Handler.
2. Lemony Snicket
Lemony Snicket is a character in the book and a pseudonym for Daniel Handler. Snicket narrates the events surrounding the Baudelaire children and is played by Patrick Warburton.

4. The Baudelaire Children
Violet, the eldest, is played by Malina Weissman. Klaus, the middle child is played by Louis Hynes. Sunny Baudelaire, the baby, is played by Presley Smith. The Baudelaire children are intelligent and well-read. Violet is a very smart inventor, Klaus loves to read and has a photographic memory and Sunny has four abnormally large teeth and loves to bite things.
5. The Humor
With all of the horrible things happening to the Baudelaires, it was nice to be able to laugh and have some comedy relief.
6. The Spectacular Musical Numbers
Neil Patrick Harris plays Count Olaf who is a villainous actor, so there was bound to be musical numbers and they were amazing.
7. Montgomery Montgomery
Montgomery Montgomery is the children's first guardian and is referred to as Uncle Monty. Uncle Monty is a herpetologist and loves reptiles. He is the first of the Baudelaire's guardians to die and is played by Aasif Mandvi.
8. Aunt Josephine
Josephine Anwhistle lives on Lake Lachrymose and was known as a "fierce and formidable" woman. After the death of her husband, Josephine became afraid of everything from door knobs to real estate agents. She is the second guardian to die and is played by Alfre Woodard.
9. The Costumes
The costumes in "A Series of Unfortunate Events" were amazing. It seemed like every description from the books matched up perfectly to what the characters wore. Of course they didn't match up perfectly, but they were definitely in the zone.
10. The Cinematography
Every scene was perfectly shot and looked visually appealing.
11. The Nostalgia
Obviously what drew me towards watching the show was the fact that I read the books when I was younger. Watching the series on Netflix was like watching a period of my childhood come to life.
