11 Reasons To Love Your Dreadlocks

I've always loved my curly hair, but hated combing, brushing and styling it every day. I tried the Afro for two years and just couldn't take the pain of picking my hair out. Then came straightening the curls out to make combing easier, but that's too much work and heat. Now. I'm with a constant hairstyle that I love. Dreadlocks.

1. They’re flawless.

2. I'm saving money.

I don’t spend money on hair care products as I use to.

3. It's a constant hair style.

4. My hair is professional.

Over the last three years, I've been turned away from jobs and an internship because of my hair being “unprofessional.” What is unprofessional about it? Is it the way it falls flawlessly off my shoulders? Nothing about dreadlocks is unprofessional. If it's the negative connotation that comes with it, let's address it.

My hair smells great.

My dreadlocks are soft.

My hair smells great.

We all don't smoke weed.

My hair smells great.

5. It's effortless.

Literally, I woke up like this.

Doing my hair in the morning consists shaking my dreadlocks loose. No pain necessary.

6. It's easy to style.

No hair straighter. No curlers. No rollers. No spritz. No hair spray.

No problem.

Loose curl dreadlocks are also easy. Take between 3-5 dreadlocks (wet or dry) and twist them till they create Bantu knots. Keep in this style between 45 minutes-2 hours.

7. No combs or brushes!

My main reasons for getting deadlocks is because I'm tender headed. With dreadlocks, I rarely ever need a comb or a brush.

8. It's an accurate representation of who I am.

9. It's all natural.

No products. No problems.

10. Long hair!

11. They give me confidence!

Those are just a few reasons I love my dreadlocks and you should love yours! They give me a sense of self and confidence that I've gotten from no other hair style.
