What are two things nearly everyone is bound to love? Delectable sweets, and the Skagit Valley.
Sure, I may be bit biased about the second one (although I really don't know who wouldn't enjoy this amazing area), but I know for sure desserts get people's attention. And for good reasons.
I'll share with you some of my favorite places to get something sweet around Skagit. A lot of them specialize in ice cream, which is perfect with summer finally here!
1. LaFeens.
I was pretty excited when I found out they were now open in Burlington. No more having to detour through Bellingham for their tasty doughnuts!
2. Big Scoop Sundae Palace.
Just look at the name of this place. If that's not enough to draw you in, then maybe one of their many, many, many treats will. A brown cow is favorite, along with a green river!
3. The Net Drive-In.
Malt shakes? Yes please. Plus while you're here for the shake, try their spectacular fries!
4. Calico Cupboard Old Town Cafe & Bakery.
I'm honestly not a huge fan of cake, but what they have here is on another level.
5. Chuck Wagon Drive-In.
Truly a classic. Whether it's a shake or a cone, you're sure to enjoy it.
6. C-Square & Third Street Cafe.
The environment here is almost as amazing as their dessert selection. I suggest the éclaire!
7. Dari-Delite.
Another road-side specialty. Their shakes are thick and cold – well worth the wait that tends to gather outside their window.
8. Hal's Drive-In.
Hal's has been around for a while, and for good reason. Everything they offer that is sweet really is sweet!
9. Snow Goose Produce.
Don't be confused by the name, they're not just a produce stand. The ice cream scoops served here are large enough to play softball with.
10. Bite Teriyaki & Pho.
Another one not to be fooled by the name, as they serve more then just amazing teriyaki. The bubble teas are soooo good.
11. Donut House.
The semi-famous fuchsia doughnut house in Anacortes is certainly worth a stop. The maple bars and bigfoot bars always find a way into my car.
