Going back and watching clips of these shows definitely brought back memories. While I don't remember a whole lot about most of these shows, there are at least a couple things I still haven't forgotten about each one. These were the shows I would get excited to watch when I got home from school. They made up a huge part of my childhood and I wish they still made shows like these.
90s—early 2000s
"Rocket Power" (1999-2002)
As a kid, all I wanted to do was hang out with these guys doing whatever extreme sport they felt like that day, and of course stopping at the Shore Shack to get some advice from Uncle Tito after. As the ancient Hawaiians used to say...
"Hey Arnold!" (1996-2004)
Was it just me, or did anyone else think that Arnold had the coolest room in the world, and that Gerald's hair was the best thing to come out of the brain of Nickelodeon?
"The Wild Thornberrys" (1998-2004)
I could have watched "The Wild Thornberrys" for hours. Whether it was because of Nigel's accent, Debbi's boy-crazyness, Darwin's sassiness or the extremely strange plot of the whole show, I was hooked.
"CatDog" (1998-2005)
I don't know if watching Cat get injured whenever Dog did dog things, watching Dog cough up hair balls, or watching these two polar opposites do everything together is what made this show so entertaining, but you have to give the creators credit for coming up with this idea. Bonus for their house being half bone and half fish.
Early 2000s
"The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron" (2002-2006)
I'm surprised this show wasn't on longer, but if you weren't jealous of Jimmy Neutron's life at least once, you're either crazy or lying. While some of these characters were beyond strange (Ms. Fowl), you have to admit that Cindy was pretty badass at times, Carl was adorable, Sheen was totally lovable, and Jimmy Neutron was one pretty clever guy.
"Drake and Josh" (2004-2008)
There was never a dull day in these guys' lives. I always wished I was as creative and witty as Megan and that I had all of her mysterious connections. She had it good with two brothers as ridiculous and funny as Drake and Josh too.
"As Told by Ginger" (2000-2006)
While I don't remember a lot about this show, I know that I loved it at the time and probably learned a lot from it. I also remember being terrified of her little brother.
"Danny Phantom" (2004-2007)
I'll be honest, this show was my guilty pleasure up until, like, seventh grade. I don't know if it was his badass moves or his piercing green eyes, but I sure thought Danny Phantom was the man.
"Fairly OddParents" (Pre-Poof) (2001-2008)
This was my favorite show for quite a while. While episodes have still been coming out in 2015, I'm more interested in the original episodes; "pre-Poof" if you will (Poof is Cosmo and Wanda's baby-- duh). Like most of the Nickelodeon shows I've listed, this one is just as ridiculous with crazy characters and story lines; there was never a bad episode of "Fairly OddParents." Plus, this is one of the only theme songs I remember on this list.
"Zoey 101" (2005-2008)
This show is the only reason I would have ever been okay with the idea of boarding school. It wasn't until college that I put my dorm key on a necklace--and sadly it's not as cool as she made it look.
"Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide" (2004-2007)
My biggest disappointment was when junior high and high school turned out to be nothing like this show made them out to be. I still learned some good life lessons though, and had a great time living vicariously through these three.
