11 Bars Every Orlando Local Needs To Experience

It's Saturday night. Having recently turned 21, your body is ready for a night that will go down in the books as one of THOSE nights. You know, the nights where you wake up and find that your Snapchat has a better recollection of the previous night than you do. There’s one slight problem- no one has any idea where to go for this memorable escapade that is about to happen.

No worries though. That's why this list exists. It is for those that are looking for something a little bit off the beaten path. Whether you are looking to live it up downtown, or kill it with Super Smash Bros these are bars that you should definitely try.

1. Saddle Up

Rated #1 country bar in Orlando, Saddle Up is bound to never disappoint for delivering on a solid good time. This club plays country songs that are bound to get you dancing while also allowing for that small town, relaxed country bar atmosphere with darts, pool tables, and ping pong. Your wallet is bound to love this bar too for its $1 Fireball shots at midnight and the no cover charge policy.

2. Fiddlers Green

Located in Winter Park just off of Fairbanks, Fiddlers Green (known as Fids to the regulars), is an Irish pub that is known for more than the Guinness. Complete with dart boards and a live band, this bar becomes a center point of the action for Winter Park locals and Rollins College students just down the road. This bar is great for a more relaxed night socializing with friends and drunkenly belting "Wagon Wheel" with the band.

3. The Porch

Right across from Fiddlers Green is The Porch, a sports bar that caters more towards the locals than the college kids. No one under 21 is allowed in after 10 PM so many of the Rollins students end up skipping out on this gem altogether (at least at night). But if you're 21+ enjoy a nice craft beer or two while watching the game with your squad!

4. Southern Nights

This 18+ LGTBQ friendly bar is renowned for its welcoming atmosphere and drag shows. For the legal peeps, it too won't break the bank with the multiple specials they have, especially on Saturday nights with their "#GIRL" event. Not only that, but if you go before 11:00 pm, those aged above 21 get in for FREE! For a night you definitely won't forget, this is the bar where it is at.

5. Wine Room

The Wine Room by far is the best wine bar in Orlando. Finding a wine you like is not an issue, its selecting just one out of the hundreds of wines available that's the real problem. The food is also delectable, designed to complement the various wines that are displayed. Even if your favorite wine is whatever is on sale at Wal-Mart, everyone can appreciate the fun that can be had here.

6. The Hideaway Bar

Voted #1 Dive Bar in Orlando by Orlando Weekly, this bar will give you that pumped up vibe you are looking for. With alternating daily specials on drinks ($2 PBR anyone?), everyone can enjoy themselves here with its great friendly energy. The time to really visit is during a Miami Dolphins or Hurricanes football game, then the party gets real! The food it also top class with their amazing burgers and wings.

7. Redlight Redlight

This bar is definitely for those beer drinkers out there. Known for their amazing craft beer selection, Redlight Redlight has gained a favorable reputation among the locals. With friendly staff members knowledgeable about all things beer, don't miss out on this great opportunity to step out of your comfort zone in both taste in beer and bars.

8. The Courtesy

"The pleasure is ours, The Courtesy is yours." Feel welcome to this high class cocktail bar that specializes in craft cocktails. Never try the same drink twice, unless you have found your bae of drinks, as their bartenders strive to make unique drinks that speak to you on a spiritual level. Happy Hour begins at 5:00, and what better way to kick it off with their $4 hand crafted punch? For the best craft cocktails in Orlando, The Courtesy is the place for you.

9. Backbooth

Famous for their Saturday night "Midnight Mass" event, this club always comes in clutch for a great night. Jamming out is a must with music that will take you back to the day all nights of the week. Live music can also be found with multiple concerts being held here. This is definitely a favorite of any Orlando local.

10. The Geek Easy

Play video games with Winter Park locals at this bar for those that like to get their nerd on while drunk. Marvel and DC superheroes populate the walls and bookshelves as you can also purchase the latest Superman comic book here. Down to earth bartenders laugh with you as your best friend attempts to sing Tina Turner. The Geek Easy is the easiest place to have an awesome time while you release your own inner geek.

11. Your Room

Because lets face it, alcohol that can be enjoyed in your pajamas without giving two f%#@$ is the best alcohol.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
