"You can make anything by writing." - C.S. Lewis.
We live in a world that's constantly being recreated and redesigned by the people in. Everyday, someone has a new idea to add to the mix, or an improvement to make something better and writers are a consistent member of both of these groups. They're communicators, visionaries, and creators that are constantly giving us new information to soak in.
Some may doubt, so I've crafted a list of just a few of the ways that writers make this place that much better.
1. We understand the power of words and how to use them.
Few things elicit emotions the way that words do.
2. We know how to tell a story, and how to tell it well.
Whether it's spoken or on paper, all of the best storytellers are writers.
3. We come in all shapes, sizes and forms... poets, and novelists and rhetoricians, oh my!
Poets, and novelists, and rhetoricians, oh my!
4. That word that's on the tip of your tongue that you just can't get? Ask us, we probably know.
Aglet. Palindrome. Lethargic. The list doesn't end.
5. Essays become more than just blocks of words on a paper.
We can make a research paper sound like poetry and poetry sound like something akin to a scholarly journal.
6. All of your editing needs instantly met.
We'll even correct your grammar without being rude about it.
7. We thrive on community and we're always seeking to share with new and seasoned writers alike.
For example, have you heard of The Odyssey?
8. When you write well, you speak well.
Communication is a fundamental part of life and writing is one of its many forms.
9. Writing is an art, and what's life without art?
Every word that's typed and letter penned by hand should be celebrated.
10. When people seek to understand life, any part of it, they'll turn to the writers for their answers.
The more you know!
As a communication studies student, poet, and content creator, one could say that I'm biased. However, I can't think of a time when I wasn't completely in love with being a writer. It's not always easy, but it's been unbelievably worthwhile.
