Even if you don't go to the lighting, the tree will definitely get you in the spirit of the season.

2. Go ice skating at Rockefeller center.

Skating under the tree, in the city, surrounded by Christmas decorations is a surefire way to make you feel holly jolly

3. Pick out a tree at Wilkens Fruit and Fir Farm.

With thousands of trees to choose from, you're sure to find one that's perfect for you.

4. See The Nutcracker Ballet at Lincoln Center.

Or at Westchester County Center

5. See The Radio City Christmas Spectacular.

If you live in or near the city, you should definitely see this at least once in your life.

6. Watch the Yorktown Holiday Electric Lights Parade.

Because who doesn't love a parade?

7. Go to the Bronx Botanical Gardens Holiday Train Show.

Not only will it get you in the festive spirit, you can also get warm and cozy in the greenhouses.

8. Look at the Christmas decorations at the Westchester Mall.

I don't know of any mall with better decorations.

9. Visit Santa's Cottage at Ridge Hill Shopping Center.

After all, who doesn't want to see Santa during the holiday season?

10. Look at the amazing window displays in NYC.

Stores such a Macy's put together amazing window displays during the holiday season, and even if you don't live in NYC, seeing them is definitely worth the trip down.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
