While these may or may not go with your personal style, they can be useful to have around. I know I kept reaching for these items all year.
1. A white t-shirt
It goes with literally everything. Wearing "norts, " grab a white t-shirt. Trying to find a shirt to wear with that statement necklace you just bought? What about all your patterned pants and detailed jackets? You don't want to distract from your style, sometimes all you need is a white t-shirt to complete the outfit.
2. Ripped jeans
"Hey I didn't really try today, but I did." Cute. Comfortable. What's not to love.
3. Athletic shorts
Sometimes you just can't worry about your style. "Norts" (aka Nike shorts) have taken over the scene, but any athletic shorts will do. They're the most comfortable thing to wear while trying to stay cool in your warm dorm building or running to the gym. Are you even wearing pants? The world may never know.
4. Flannel shirt
These are especially convenient in transition seasons or in climates that can't make up their minds. It looks just as cute tied around your waist as it does on. Of course it's a tailgate staple and the perfect way to stay comfortable when the weather is a little funky.
5. Oversized sweatshirt/sweater
I don't even think this one really needs an explanation, if you have one you know why it's on this list. If you don't know just buy one. So. Comfortable.
6. Leggings
There's a reason everyone wears them, real pants are too much of a challenge. Plus, who really wants to wear stiff, tight jeans when they're sitting in a lecture hall all day. Might as well be comfortable.
7. A blazer
You never know when you might have a last minute interview, headshot, or networking event. From business casual to full on professional, a blazer is a classic addition to any power outfit.
8. Little black dress
Ok so it does't really have to be little or black, but every girl should have that one dress that could be casual or fancy, and works for almost any occasion. The details don't matter, what's important is that this dress makes you feel good.
9. School apparel
Whether you've collected one of every shirt, or you just have a free shirt from orientation, every girl needs at least one item that represents their school. You never know when you'll end up at a game, or want to participate in an unspoken campus wide spirit day. Just be prepared.
10. Boots
The type of boots you have may depend on where you live, or what you like to do. Rain boots, hiking boots, snow boots, combat boots, and knee high leather (or faux leather) boots are all good choices. Just keep the local climate and recreational activities in mind when packing your shoes
