Your youth group - a group of completely different personalities that all manage to somehow have the best time together. Though these days may be in your past, the lasting effects your youth group has had on you rests forever in your heart. Here are some valuable life lessons you learned from your youth group:

1. How to play Honey I Love You

This could be one of the more awkward games you have played in your life time, but once you have played it a few times, you become a pro.

2. How to not save all of my homework for Sunday night

Most youth groups take place Sunday night from around 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., so this is good for those who struggle with a little disorder called procrastination like I do.

3. Being competitive is not a sin

I'm fully convinced that not even the NFL can get as competitive a some of the youth group games get. From capture the flag to even Pictionary, what is a youth group game without some Christ-like competition?

4. How to learn names fast

There were so many nights when complete strangers would show up, but the beauty of youth group is that nobody is a stranger. Everyone immediately acts like the newbie has been a member since the youth group originated.

5. How to be aware of flying objects around you 24/7

Sure its embarrassing getting hit by a frisbee in the face the first 34 times, but no worries, you get used to it eventually.

6. Retreats are actually the most fun couple of days in your whole entire life

Games, food, friends, good food, the beach or mountains and Jesus - what more could one ask for?

7. How to get over myself and look absolutely ridiculous

My youth group was the place where I could take off my mask, and say hey, this is the real me. The environment was a place like no other. You are bound to look crazy sometimes, so why not get used to it and have a good time?

8. It is actually possible to have a second family

Who would have thought that a group of 30 or so kids with all completely different personalities could ever possibly balance each other out to make a family. Sure each person could get on each others nerves just like brothers and sisters would, but at the end of the day you realize you love each other like family.

9. Accepting people for who they are has lasting effects

Youth group is made up of a bunch wacky personalities. Once you come to the conclusion that each member is made in the image of God, you have no room to judge each other. Everyone is a little broken, everybody has his or her flaws, but everybody is designed by the same artist. With that knowledge, you get to meet some amazing people with unique background stories not only in youth group, but in life; ultimately resulting in lasting relationships.

10. Learning about God is supposed to be fun

Believe it or not, learning about God is not designed to be boring. God has a creative and wild mind and He wants learning about Him to be one of the most joyful things we do. He delights in our joy. My youth group taught me this life changing principle by allowing me to look forward to learning about who God is.

My youth group - a group of completely different personalities that all managed to somehow have the best time together. Though these days are in my past as I have stepped in to my college years, the memories and principles I have learned from the place I once called my second home, has been a huge part of my life that has shaped me into who I am today.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
